On Friday January 20, Lars Larson interviewed Jim Harris about Huckabee's immigration plan. Lars started out by calling the plan that Huckabee posted on his website 'amnesty.'
Lars: Well when I've read his website the Nine Point Plan really does sound like amnesty. It says that people who are in this country illegally would be allowed to stay after satisfying a couple of minor conditions, which is not sending illegals home.
Jim: Well you know, I keep hearing that. One of those minor conditions is that you go back to where you are from and get in line behind everyone else thats already in line if you are going to come in here legally.
Lars goes on to claim that the plan can't work because the illegals have to self deport which couldn't possibly work. Jim explained that the Nine Point Plan calls for a crackdown on employers who hire illegals and would use a Social Security match system to verify legal status.
Later in the show, Lars went on to praise efforts in Arizona to match names with Social Security numbers to catch illegals. He said that the illegals were self deporting and that this strategy could work across the country.
When asked about why he thought that Huckabee's plan to use the Social Security administration to deny illegals employment in the US wouldn't work but then later said that it was working in Arizona, he responded, The crackdown Arizona is doing is called no match'. That is, employers are forbidden to hire someone whose name does not match a social security number. That is not the kind of crackdown the huckster proposes and the reason hes not proposing it is it works.
Huckabee's plan, which Lars said he read, does in fact call for a crackdown on employers who hire someone illegally. Step 4 in the Nine Point Plan specifically forbids employers from hiring illegals.
4. Enforce the Law on Employers Employment is the chief draw for most illegal immigrants and denying them jobs is the centerpiece of an attrition strategy.
Impose steep fines and penalties on employers that violate the law.
Institute a universal, mandatory citizenship verification system as part of the normal hiring process.
Prevent the IRS and the Social Security Administration from accepting fraudulent Social Security numbers or numbers that don't match the employees' names.
It is clear to me that Lars either never read the plan or he is flat out lying about it. It is also interesting that Lars has lavished praise on Romney for his tough stance against illegal immigration. I looked up Romney's plan and immediately noticed that there is no Social Security matching provision. Romney is guilty of the exact thing that Lars accused Huckabee of doing.
Either Lars is a fraud for not reading the plan while claiming he did or he is a lying hypocrite.
LOL. That's the very first thing I checked as well right after reading his post here.

Unwarranted Pinocchios [Mark Krikorian]
Michael Dobbs, in his "fact checker" column in the Post, gives Huckabee "two Pinocchios" for "significant omissions or exaggerations" because he partially modeled his immigration plan on an NR cover story I did. Now, I'm no big Huckabee fan, but that's simply unfair the page describing his plan actually footnotes my NR piece, for heaven's sake. Not til the last paragraph of the story does Dobbs get around to mentioning that: "In Huckabee's defense, it must be noted that his Web site credits Krikorian for some of his immigration ideas." So where's the omission? What's the function of think tanks if not to develop and articulate ideas for politicians to adopt?
http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=ZGU0OWMwMzRiZWMxYzg2MzQxYjZjZTRiMzllNThmNWY= I've heard Krikorian say, on the Laura Ingraham show, that Huckabee did contact him before he used his plan.
I changed my user name. I believe that the Evil_Bok account is no longer active. I asked the admin to cancel it and let me use Tramonto.
Im not posting under two names. I put my previous user name in my profile in case anyone wants to look up my older posts.
I see a difference between Hunter and the rest, but no difference between Thompson, Huckabee, and Romney. They all did liberal things and have turned around and campaigned as conservatives.
Yes, and so do a lot of folks. The problem is that first the 16th Amendment must be repealed. This is a little detail the Governor leaves out of his message. He also leaves out the small detail that this is not HIS plan since the actual Fair Tax bill was written by Neal Boortz and Congressman John Linder.
Listen to the interview. I was just quoting Lars' misquote of the phrase. It was supposed to be an inside joke in case he ever reads this.
Brother Huck’s Traveling Salvation Show
Cold January night
And the propaganda’s hanging down
And the conservatives on the ground feelin’ beat
Move up the road to the outside of town
And the sound of that good gospel beat!
Sits a ragged governor
Where there ain’t no truth,
And that gospel group tellin’ you and me
It’s Huck, Brother Huck, say
Brother Huck’s Traveling Salvation Show
Pack up the anchor babies and grab the old ladies
And ev’ryone cries ‘cause everyone knows
Brother Huck’s lies.
Starting soft and slow
Like a small earthquake
And when he lets go,
Half the valley shakes
It’s Huck, Huck Love, say
Brother Hucks Traveling Salvation Show
Pack up the anchor babies , grab the old ladies
And ev’ryone cries, ‘cause everyone knows
Brother Huck’s flam flam show.
Hallelujah!
Sung to Neil Diamond’s Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show
Nice, when someone points out that Huckabee is being lied about on the radio, you respond by mocking Huckabee and Christians.
Is it OK for Lars to lie about Huckabee’s plan?
