The voters down there were truly clueless, at least in that case.

And another thing - MSNBC is stating that the economy and illegal immigration were most important to SC GOP voters. So why the hell (yes I’m mad) would they support McCain?

What this data shows is that Fred is not getting evangelical support, which he must have. He got totally screwed by Dobson when he said Fred wasn’t Christian enough. Fred got only 15% of the born again vote. McCain got more than that and Huck got 40%. Also, Fred is clearly not getting his message out when both McCain and Huck get substantially more of the pro-life and “deport the illegals” votes. The Republican party is dying before our eyes.

How would you like to have to support a VP candidate saddled with Bush's low poll numbers, having to support the president's amnesty bill, etc etc. It would be a disaster. And you wouldn't be supporting that veep, you'd be supporting someone else. But the veep would have enough establishment support to win the nom and then loose the general.

A Republican can win, but there is no way Bush would get 'third term.'

That would be a slight improvement over anybody that Hillary would nominate.

Sorry, this assumes that Bush would have rubbed his political brain cells together and realized at some point in 2006 that his amnesty bill was killing the GOP and that it not only should be scrapped, but turned into something the GOP could hammer the DEMOCRATS with.

Bush has badly fumbled the political football since 2004. Pathetically, even.

Bork now supports Romney. But I highly doubt Romney would appoint someone like Bork.
