Russia Issues Pre-Emptive Nuclear Threat
By Sky News SkyNews - 27 minutes ago
Russia's military chief of staff says Moscow would use nuclear weapons in pre-emptive strike if it felt threatened.

General Yuri Baluyevsky said there were no plans "to attack anyone" but reasserted Russia's right to defend itself.
"To defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Russia and its allies, military forces will be used, including preventively, including with the use of nuclear weapons," Gen Baluyevsky said.
The remarks do not represent a change in policy for Moscow.
But they do come at a time of heightened tension between Russia and the West.
Russia is embroiled in persistent disputes over US plans for missile defence facilities in former Soviet satellite states that have joined Nato.
A row has also broken out between the UK and Russia after the director of the British Council in St Petersburg was briefly arrested.
Britain closed the council's offices after accusing the Russians of harassment.
>>Youre kidding, right ? The 1.6B Chinese just south of Siberia which is, by the way, mostly empty and also happens to contain an absolute treasure chest in terms of natural resources ?
Only thing that *is* stopping the Chinese from invading is the fact that there wouldnt be all that many Chinese left afterwards to move to Siberia.<<
Hold on a moment. I happen to live in an environment that is identical to Siberia. Same flora, same wildlife, same climate. Yeah, we have lots of resources. We also have mindboggling cold weather in the winter - it was -48 degrees last Tuesday night - and did I mention that it’s winter for eight months? Did I mention the paper-thin soil and waterlogged swampland which extends for miles in any direction? How about the lack of roads? And never believe the myths about mosquitoes up here - they rarely exceed eight pounds.
If this place was so doggone attractive, we’d already be filled up with Angelenos and New Yorkers eager to buy cheap land ($1,000 an acre) on any one of a 100,000 lakes and rivers. As it is, we’re losing population out here in the roadless areas of interior Alaska, and the only ones filling it up are moose, bears, and wolves.
Perhaps the Chinese would fill up Siberia if there was a forced migration, such as the one engineered by Stalin in the mid-20th century. I can’t see many Chinese willingly heading north, though. Take my word for it, this is one tough place to live. Folks tend to like things like warmth, other people, roads, cities, and a climate easy to grow rice and veggies. True here and true there.
Just my two cents, from America’s Icebox.
Barak? Hell what about her Royal Thighness? She’ll polish his military assets alright. That is she would if he’d let her. Bet Bill gets some that night...
If you have anything that makes reference to a Clinton Doctrine as either of you have described I would be most grateful to have it forwarded to my inbox.
Thank you very much.
I don’t know what search might turn it up. There is plenty on related issues such as Star Wars and Russian or Chinese ICBMs, but Clinton Doctrine is an unknown.
Pretty much. Any country possessing ICBM's wouldn't have them unless they were serious about protection. Apparently the MSM has forgotten the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD).
Too bad the MSM can't see the connection between MAD and the right to bear arms. There isn't a thug out there who would try to kick down a door knowing there was a man with a .50 Cal Desert Eagle waiting on the other side.
No, it’s Yeltsin’s fault. If he had stayed more sober, he might have been more in control of the situation over there when he was president. Delegating to scum like Putin was extremely stupid.
The Russians are trying so very hard to be recognized as a world super power again...
Just a few weeks ago they said they will land a man on Mars in 2025 and claim to be years ahead of everyone else in space technology.
It’s all mostly more bark than bite. Russia is improving at a good rate. But they still have a long way to go. Moscow and some of the major cities look really good and coming along. But go outside those major cities and its a mess. Some cities in Siberia cant even afford a fire department.
Putin may be a mad Russian, but he ain't crazy. If you have ever seen a picture of his "press secretary" you would know Putin is well cared for. A wife to sweep the Dacha and a "press secretary"
She is a classic Russian beauty around 28 to 32 I'd guess. Drop dead gorgeous. Hillary wouldn't have a prayer.
I think they have too much free time on their hands. We need to screw with another former provinces election just to keep them busy. The second thing we need to do is cut their section of the space station loose and let them go their separate way. I would hate to think we might threaten them with too much American food.
Lastly, I would move NATO headquarters closer to their largest military base and load it up with spy gear and radar. This will help them decide if they are being threatened.
I assume all our ICBM's have been re targeted since the break up of the USSR, so as a extra effort thing, I would publish the list.
That should do it!
It might make hillary cry!

LOL Good!
So I don't get why the statement is news. I've always assumed every nuclear armed nation felt this way or they wouldn't risk building and maintaining such terrible instruments of mass slaughter and destruction. I as a US citizen expect whoever our president is to be ready to nuke a nation if they are legitimately a threat to us. The Russians are merely stating that they have "second amendment rights of the highest order". Those of us in the US have no ground to stand on criticizing their statement, being as how we are the only nation who has ever nuked anybody and that was a nation already half defeated. Now don't get me wrong I'm proud we nuked the emperor worshiping Japanese fiends, and feel it was too bad we couldn't have given the Germans a little taste too. But it is the height of hypocrisy for us to disparage other nations when they state their right to preemptive defense.
I totally agree with your whole post. But I’ll stick with my 3 inch Magnum 12 Gage 000 Buckshot and 1.25 Oz. slugs. First I’ll wing the thief with some #4 to the face to slow him down, then I’ll mortally wound him with a gut shot of 000 Buckshot and then while he is squirming I’ll Load up a couple of slugs and tap him through the wisdom teeth so I can watch his eyes pop out. And then I’ll clear his troubled mind quickly because I’m no sadist and dangly eyeballs make me sick.
Nukes are the only way the Russians can keep China at bay.
Russia Losing Battle in Population Growth to Disease, Low Birth Rates
Time to tell the family "Let's pack up and leave this free and temperate country the bosses back in the motherland deem some more warm bodies needed in Siberia!.... Seventy Below with no power or fuel ain't so bad if you're thanklessly enduring it for the future emergence of a glowing socialist/humanist utopia in some generation to come... Right?"

I further suspect this is all a long and likely to expand list of diplomatic posturings. No. 1 Bush goes to the ME, No. 2 the Russian navy conducts a Mediterranean exercise, No. 3 Israel tests a long rage missile with unconventional capability and then No. 4, the Russian response concerning “a nuclear defense”.
He's playing popular politics to the rowdy side that can keep him in power.
By contrast, in today's America a "deport the foreign cheaters now" candidate who appeals to similar nationalistic support has no political power at all.
