FWIW, my very unscientific observation is that evangelicals as a group aren’t into lawn signs for political candidates.
It’s really very simple.
Fred may be the best ‘conservative’ (according to most on FR), but he is a wretched campaigner.
Now I expect most (non-personal) responses will be lementing a “lack of attention” or an “MSM conspiracy to keep Fred down”.
The biggest problem is that the person who should be the most animated about Fred ‘08....is Fred. He isn’t. Sorry, but that is a fact.
Watch him in interviews where he and his wife are there, and tell me who you think wants him to be president more; Fred Thompson or his wife.
Maybe he will turn it around, but I doubt it.
If he drops out after SC, you’ll see that it was a half-hearted attempt.

I think it will be Thompson and McCain filling the first and second spots, though which will end up where is anyone’s guess.
FWIW, my observation is that it doesn't take being an evangelist to have disdain for putting a sign in one's yard.
Did Rasmussen say that Hillary would win Nevada? Difficult with Alan Colmes constant interruptions to hear anyone else.

Jeri isn't running however I prefer a POTUS who has the personal directive to follow the Constitution to maintain freedoms rather than one who feels that it is a living and breathing document to be used for political personal gain.
S.C. voters are Republicans, not neccessarily Conservatives.

If Fred could finish a good second, I’d say that’s not bad. Two days ago, I wouldn’t have thought that, but there’s a lot more positive noise out there about Fred from reporters and bloggers covering his campaign.
I think he will, if he stays in, slowly but surely gain momentum. He has raised quite a bit of money and his campaign has a new fund raiser for ads in Florida AND Super Tuesday.
He sounded much more upbeat on Levin tonight, I thought. He also slammed McCain a few times.

It seems like there are fewer than I usually see. A lot for Ron Paul, he seems to have strong support in this area, although I suspect there aren’t that many supporters. A local M.D. has a big Huckabee sign in front of his office on a main road. A few for Fred. The neighborhoods where I usually see several signs don’t have any.
I still hope Thompson can put out McCain and Huckabee in South Carolina. Romney took out McCain in Michigan, and is about to take out McCain in McCain’s back yard. I hope Thompson can take out McCain in Thompson’s back yard.
He wasn’t really pushing Fred...he was in more of an “analysis” mode.
Colmes has been saying Fred’s campaign was dead for quite a while...he doesn’t like him and Fred slaps him around pretty hard in interviews :-). Now, he predicts a Fred win in South Carolina.
The real strange part was that everyone seemed to agree it could happen. Usually, anything about Fred being successful is dismissed by the pundits and pollsters.
