LAS VEGAS, Jan. 18 -- While his rivals courted voters in South Carolina, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney barnstormed across Nevada as he sought a victory on Saturday to provide momentum before Florida's contest at the end of the month.
Friday afternoon, he planned to jet to Los Angeles to tape an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." "It worked for Huckabee. He won Iowa, so apparently it was the right strategy," joked press secretary Eric Fehrnstrom. "We've determined that the path to the White House goes through the Jay Leno show."
Fehrnstrom added that going on the nationally televised entertainment program was the "only way he could be in South Carolina and Nevada at the same time." When asked whether Romney knew any good jokes, he said "We'll find out tonight."

Tune in if you can or set the TIVO...
I hope Ahhnold endorses Mitt before Super Tuesday.
Um, I kind of don’t...because I want Mitt to win! ;)
Thanks for the ping. I will definitely tune into that!
That is great publicity. Appears to have worked for Huckabee.
Ooh yeah, I think that would be great too. And... I don’t see why not!
I understand everyone here having their favorites, but come crunch time, there is a fair chance that Romney will be the last Republican standing.
And if that is the case, we all better be ready to stand behind him, or else it’s President Clinton.
I just set my TV to record this. I flipped through the news channels only to hear on CNN, that if Romney wins Nevada, he’ll “have three golds and two silvers, which is pretty good in his way of thinking.” ....in his way of thinking???...how about: which is way ahead of any other candidate. The MSM bias is very frustrating.
Ditto what you said. I want Romney to lead our country, and seriously believe that he will be the best adversary against her Hillariness.
The media know it, which is why they have been so antagonistic to him specifically.
Bttt!
Mitt got some great applause at the commercial break!
I wish I could have been there in the audience. I’m so near yet so far, couldn’t leave my far side of town to get over there in time. But I am looking forward to showtime here in 2 hours.... *Sigh*
Romney was great. Got some wonderful applause also! I won’t spoil it for you.
Thank you...:) I saw another thread but tried not to read it...heh.
Thanx.
I’ll try to catch the replay.
I still have rabbit ears.
:o)
Okay, I ‘fess too.... also have rabbit ears here :), and Nbc is my worst channel. I stayed up for it then fell asleep during Jay’s monologue, woke up to see Mitt leaving the stage....lol.
