Romney Pulls it off in Michigan

In a state where the economy and cars rule the day, it was all business in Michigan and the businessman won.

With his win in Michigan Tuesday night, Romney proved that not only is he not going anywhere, but he's a force to be reckoned with. The last time I checked, he now has two gold and two silver medals.

That is not only a great olympic performance but it shows that Team Romney has always been built for a 50-state haul and winning the most delegates.

Let's remember something here. It was Mitt Romney who was campaigning in Michigan when John McCain, Mike Huckabee, and others were not. He went there time and time again. Romney and his team have said all along that they plan to be competitive in every sTate.

And you know what? They're turning out to be right.

Romney knew that he had to do well here not just because of his family roots in this state, but also because the economy and business nature of the debate in Michigan is right in his wheelhouse.

So now what? Folks, if you know who's going to win this nomination you are dreamin'. Three states. Three separate winners.

I know one thing for sure. Huckabee must win South Carolina or he's going to be in a world of trouble. Will Evangelicals come to the rescue again?

As for McCain, so much foir momentum. A strong South Carolina showing is now important. Finishing behind Fred Thompson would be an issue.

And Romney? Well, he may not win South Carolina but don't count him out in Florida and the big day of February 5.

And Giuliani? What is unfolding here is his dream scenario. There is no clear cut favorite. No candidate that has clear cut momentum. And Giuliani is in Florida waiting. And folks, Florida is coming soon.

Are your seatbelts buckled yet? I leave for South Carolina Wednesday. Southern cookin' and game on.

Notice the presses reluctance to call Mitt the frontrunner, something they eagerly conferred on McCain?

They were stupid to call McCain the frontrunner but I have to agree with them now that there is NO clear leader.

Three big contests, three completely different results. How can there be a frontrunner?

Yeah, the media spin this morning from the usual suspects has been, “it was a must win for Mitt in his home state, and now each candidate has a one primary win. Its a wide open race....”

Excuse me Mr. Bolivator, but Mitt has won TWO primaries, and when Republicans vote, not single issue vanity voters, Mitt carries the day every time.

The Today show Meredith Viera tried to drive a wedge between Mitt and evangelical voters by bringing up the God and Marriage issue this morning. Nice try Ms. Infobabe, but you got batted down.

I’m glad. But it is funny how ready they were to jump on the “straight talk” bandwagon after New Hampshire.

Slight correction. Four states, not three. Romney also won the Wyoming caucus. For some reason, Wyoming has been neglected and disregarded by virtually all the talking heads despite it had the same number of delegates as New Hampshire.

Also, everyone’s talking about South Carolina on Saturday despite Nevada is also in play with its 34 Republican delegates. Romney should win Nevada, giving him three gold medals regardless of how well he does in South Carolina which only has 24 delegates.

Isn’t that odd? Nevada’s GOP primary has 34 delegates up for grabs but everyone is focused on South Carolina which only has 24 delegates. Ah, tradition ...

I stand corrected. You are right. Romney is in the clear lead in the so-far-low delegate count and has won 2 states and will probably win a third with Nevada. Whoever wins in SC, that person won’t be up to Romney’s count in delegates or victories.

So he is, at the moment, the frontrunner. Unless we get to define that word anyway we want anytime we want, which is pretty much the way the media treats words anyway.

But, again. I stand corrected.

For the moment, Mitt is leading with delegates, having almost twice as much as the number two man, Huckabee who has 21.

He is the current frontrunner and was the man to beat in every contest thus far.

I sure hope Mitt can further firm up his front runner status.

This victory was so important. How good it feels to have such a solid win! : )

Interesting to note just how many reporters won’t mention the simple fact McCain lost among Republican voters AGAIN, isn’t it?

This wasn’t about the economy, this was about John McCain revelling in slapping around the GOP base on MSNBC for the past eight years, just to amuse Chris Mathews.

I’ve seen several reports from MSM pointing out that McCain lost the GOP vote.

There have not even been any Nevada polls reported on RealClearPolitics.com (for Republicans anyway).

thanks to:

Dad who was governor
Daily Kos Readers who were encouraged to cross over for Mitt

If Mitt couldn’t win in MI, he was pretty bad.

Now, a wide open race through Super Tuesday.

FOUR Rinos (R & M & M & H) versus Two Conservatives (T & H)

I hope we get a brokered convention!

‘I’ve seen several reports from MSM pointing out that McCain lost the GOP vote.’

In passing, after they claim it was the economy.

Well, in my mind that’s Romney’s best selling point. If I want someone to strengthen our economy, than Romney is the best man w/o question.

If we want someone to be our nanny, then I would not want Romney to be there. I’d vote for my mom.
