"But, but, nice hair is important. And hes an (R)."
Yeah. :-) Maybe amongst a bunch of emotional teenagers who are searching for their identities, but NOT with us. People really have to fool themselves to believe that Romney (or any of the other RINOs) is suitable to be the CINC and occupy the Executive Office. So when we suggest that we simply don't vote for a RINO, people get mad and accuse us of being willing to bring down the nation, because we will NOT vote for a RINO. Nor will we vote for a democrat. It leaves people in a real lurch. Many people have asked me what my solution is, and I've not said it exactly this way up until now. But the solution is to simply trust God, have faith, and do what's right. What else is there to do? Anything else is just wrong.
Let me say this yet again. We will NOT have a RINO President. No matter what people say in this thread about Romney's charisma, or how successful he's been in business, or how smart he is. By our very nature, people such as us will ensure that a RINO does NOT make it into the Executive Office. Unfortunately, because of this we will almost certainly have a leftist for our President in 2008. Of course, things could change. It's still months away and a lot can change...for the better, OR the worse! But right now, the train wreck visibly approaching can't be helped unless "conservatives" loudly, and on a wholescale basis REJECT the truly terrible examples of men that the GOP is currently considering. In truth, from what I've seen over the past 18 months, it's the GOP that should be rejected!
It's not that we hate Romney or his ilk. It's simply a matter of right, wrong, and acting according to what we know is right. To vote for a RINO is just WRONG. To vote for a democrat is just WRONG. Therefore, the remaining actions available to us should be easy for most people to see. But for all the criticisms that we toss around here at FR about sheeple, I believe that there are far too many sheeple, even here on FR.
However, there is at least an equal number of people like us who simply aren't going to settle for second best this time. We're not part of the "Anybody but Hillary" crowd, and we're NOT GOP "bots". The sheeple should realize this and act accordingly instead of all cheering and giving high fives because RINO Romney won MI. The sad fact is that by our very nature, and because we're going to do what's right, we're going to bring him down in the end. He's not our target though. He simply happens to be among a general category of people we will not, and do not support.
People are simply afraid to do what's right. Because it's looking more and more that in order to do what's right, we're going to have to pencil in our candidate in November of 2008. But this takes real courage, and it's looking like too few people have enough courage right now. However, there's enough of us with courage to really screw things up for those who don't!
Nothing good comes from people motivated by fear, and there is an abundance of it going around. There's at least enough to keep this party split, which it currently is.

I’ve read about him and what he is and how he got where he is enough to make me want to puke. He’s a leftist. But he’s got a goodly following of soccer moms and idiots who simply don’t see through it. But that’s O.K. People such as us are here to “help” with that.

The Mitt Romney I know
By Michelle Malkin January 15, 2008 10:32 AM The excellent blogger/Weekly Standard writer Dean Barnett has a very candid, informed, and informative piece about Mitt Romneys character and campaign missteps in the New York Times (I know, I know).
Just read it and tell me what you think. A snippet:
I spent a lot of time with Mr. Romney that year, and I occasionally served as his volunteer driver, taking him to local campaign events. The Mitt Romney I got to know was warm and likable. He had an electric intelligence. He was unfailingly decent. He was totally committed to his family. He treated everyone with respect and kindness.
If youre like most politically attuned Americans, you probably dont agree with my description of Mr. Romney. You may consider him to be the personification of political ambition. You possibly believe he will say anything to get elected president. You might even consider him one of the least honorable politicians in the country.
As a longtime admirer of Mr. Romneys, it pains me that many Americans believe these things. Even worse, Mr. Romneys presidential campaign has given them cause to feel this way. As a result, in the Michigan primary today, he is fighting for his political life.
I often marvel at how the public perception of Mr. Romney differs so radically from the man I know. The blame for this lies in the campaign he has run

I appreciate your encouragement a LOT. I think I've run more people off because of getting angry and really using a bad choice of words.
IF I (and the rest of us!) can remain calm and just tell it like it is, then maybe people will see what's going to happen. It's O.K. to be motivated by fear, so long as we do the correct thing and act accordingly. I just see this entire run up to the November 2008 elections as a big "herding operation" by the major political parties and the MSN. I'm completely amazed that so many people here don't see it. A lot of us do, but a lot don't.
...anyway...thanks a bunch. I appreciate it. :-)

That’s a good description of how I see it. I appreciate your thoughts on the subject. IMO, it’s time to take a stand.
Give the people a straight up choice, Hillary or a conservative. Don’t give us a person intent on turning the nation into a communist state in ten years vs a person willing to do it over thirty.

I agree. Did you catch the segment on Rush a couple of days ago where he warned a caller of this same “problem”? The problem being people such as ourselves? If not, I can find it for you.

I can't really see much from just that snippet.
Though I am inclined to support Mitt (mind isn't made up yet!), I wouldn't do so on the basis of stuff like this...though if he were the opposite of what Barnett describes, I might not vote for him.
Being a nice guy fits the description of the two men who ran for the Presidency in 1980. But there was a HUGE difference.
Heck, many people describe Impeached42 as a nice man. I wouldn't go across the street to shake his hand...but he might be a friendly, respectable chap.
I am leaning to Mitt and Fred because of their desire to enact conservative policies into our government. (Those of you who insist he is a liberal, please don't waste my time...I will read your descriptions on other threads. I am just telling you my perceptions.)
I am GLAD Mitt is a good guy. I feel encouraged there are a broad base of conservative thinkers and pundits who seem to endorse him: National Review, Ann Coulter, the chancellor Bob Jones University, and Tom Tancredo.
Now look: you've got economic conservatives at NRO..."blue bloods" who like him, you've got the firebrand Ann Coulter (who seems to detest the NRO gang lately!), you've got a staunch socially-right-wing Southern Baptist educational leader, and a "border security even if it hairlips the next generation" Republican from the Western United States. ALL OF THESE DISPARATE REPUBLICANS LIKE MITT ROMNEY!
There must be a reason, and I hope a lot of us don't start calling all of these people RINOs. They aren't.

That made me think of the exploding lemon on Humble's head! :-) There were many exploding lemons on humble's head that day. Many, many lemons met their untimely demise that mild late December afternoon. ;-)

Yes, those are magical, mystical underpants. I hear that the wearer attains special, magical, mystical powers.

I laughed myself silly when I watched those vids! It reminded me of a buddy of mine and me getting "busted" by my wife who came home early and we had just pulled off our favorite "stunt".
The "stunt" involves a half gallon of gasoline, a .243 Winchester varmint rifle, and a lit candle. So you can sort of imagine what we were up to. We call it the "Gasoline Trick". She pulled into the driveway with my Mom and Stepdad just as the blast hit the front of the van and they saw the mushroom cloud about 75 yards away. :-)
I was in the doghouse for a day or two because of that, but you should have seen it! WHAT a sight! :-)
Well...I DO hope that Romney is wearing his magical, mystical underpants. He's going to need them. :-)

Yes, those are magical, mystical underpants. I hear that the wearer attains special, magical, mystical powers. Better be some good magic. I was talking to one of my Aunts the other day and she said unemployment in Michigan under George Romney was extremely bad. She said having another Romney on the horizen was scarey.
