I created a chart a few years ago that I can update to show the exact age of the justices:
John Paul Stevens 87.74
Ruth Bader Ginsburg 74.84
Antonin Scalia 71.85
Anthony M. Kennedy 71.48
Stephen Breyer 69.42
David Hackett Souter 68.33
Clarence Thomas 59.56
Sam Alito 57.79
John Roberts 52.97
Moriarity was a big drunk. That is what cost him L&O. He’s also a Canadian.
Genre movies require an extensive willing suspension of disbelief.
Woman hits man, man hits woman, man leaves in anger, woman calls cops. Nothing to see here.
50 million abortions relieves me of that responsibility.
Wow, almost sounds like we got the wrong Law And Order actor.
It’s getting bad when supporters will have to attack what a guy says in his endorsement for their candidate.
If he carried more weight, I would say that sentence was actually more damaging to Fred Thompson then Steve King’s endorsement which claimed Fred needed fire in the belly and Steve was going to give it to him.
I really do wish we could refrain from personally attacking people simply because they endorse a candidate.
I think the problem with Roe is not about abortion, the problem is the legal ignorance as to what overturnign Roe vw Wade DOES.
It ONLY kicks the issue back to the states.
If pro-life forces were smart they would be putting firewall laws in place that say IF roe vs wade is overturned THEN X, Y, and Z. (whatever the law says for those in rio linda)
This is a weird endorsement, but it should help as much as any other endorsement.
Fred’s my guy but Moriarty’s a nut job and this doesn’t help us any.
I just put a bit more credence in NRTLC's assessment of Fred's pro-life positions than I do some actor's.
It depends what you mean by credibility. NRLC is a political organization, and makes endorsements based on political considerations. They obviously believe Fred Thompson is their best choice to get someone elected who will move the ball forward on pro-life issues.
I’ve seen the state affiliate of NRLC endorse a democrat who was less pro-life over a strong pro-life republican because the democrat was an incumbent, even though his election gave the democrats the senate, which effectively killed any chance to pass pro-life legislation. In fact, the DPV ran anti-pro-life advertisements against the democrat, while the democrat touted his endorsement by the pro-life group.
But my point wasn’t about who is more credible, it was simply that it is bad when you get an endorsement from a close friend and in that endorsement he says he doesn’t think you will accomplish what he wants on his major issue.
However I do see your point and understand how you feel, I am neutral on this one as well, good actor, a bit unsettled, but maybe it’s “any port in a storm” time...
Thanks for the *PING*. Moriarty is a long-time conservative... in fact he tracks further right that I do.
I'll bet he even believes the Duke Lacrosse team is innocent!!
I wonder if people in IL even know that John Paul Stevens is one of them.
“If my memory serves me right Moriarty had a big fight with Janet Reno back in the Clinton days and she was instrumental in having him fired from Law and Order.”
He wasn’t fired, he resigned in protest to Janet Reno’s attempts to censor Law and Order. Looks like she succeeded.
