"A third of my generation is dead because of politicians like Giuliani." -- Steven Pokorny, age 28, at Giuliani during meeting in Miami, Sunday, Jan. 13
MIAMI, Jan. 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Rudy Giuliani was rattled by pro-life advocates and canceled his speech at his first bus-tour event Sunday in Miami. Activists have planned confrontations with Rudy for every stop of his Florida bus tour. Photos available online.
On Sunday, Jan. 13, at approximately 12:15 PM, pro-life activists were in the crowd at The Green Street Cafe (located at 3110 Commodor Plaza, Coconut Grove Florida, just outside Miami) waiting for Giuliani to begin his Florida Bus Tour.
When Rudy Giuliani arrived, Joseph Landry (age 26) was within 5 feet of the candidate, and began yelling: You are a baby killer! You are a baby killer! Florida is pro-life! Rudy wants public funding for abortion!" See news report. Law enforcement officials immediately escorted Mr. Landry from the area, while Mr. Landry continued his monologue.
Within Minutes, Steven Pokorny, age 28, stood to his feet and cried out, "A third of my generation is dead because of politicians like Giuliani! Giuliani wants to kill children and have you pay for it!" Law enforcement did not stop Mr. Pokorny.
At that point, Giuliani left the building, without addressing the crowd.
Mr. Pokorny was able to follow Mr. Giuliani for more than a minute, yelling out about Rudy's pro-choice, pro-homosexual agenda. Again, Mr. Pokorny was not interrupted by police.
Giuliani officials had no idea how many pro-lifers were in the crowd, and how many more times Giuliani would be confronted. This might explain why Mr. Giuliani did not make any remarks - and left the meeting without addressing supporters.
Pro-lifers have scheduled confrontations with Rudy on every stop of his Florida Bus tour.
Video footage of the confrontations with Rudy is available upon request.
> How would you stop abortion ????????????
The best way to stop abortion is for FreeRepublic to take all of the money that it has raised and send it to the Rudy Giuliani campaign. He will best defend the born — and the unborn.
Whew, that’s a relief!
Of course any one can state their opinions on the law.
But you are so wrong in your understanding of how constitutional law works that I was sincerely hoping that you weren’t a lawyer. That would be sad.
If you only knew.
As if your opinion, as an outed snake lawyer, matters to me.
Not.
I know and respect many lawyers. You are not one of those.
thank you for pointing this out. I am reminded that in the British politiical tradition. or so it was until PC, smothered it, opponents were free to make loud noises and to interrupt others. Watch any debate in the House of Commons and one sees very "rude" behavior. Now the unstated rule is. however, is that there will; be exchanges: a mob cannot be allowed to shout down the speaker unless he has been given a chance but unable to respond effectively. Piling on IS allowed.

lol.
Hi Nana. Thanks for the laugh. : )
Do not presume you know anything about me or my background as a lawyer.
Do not call the good soldiers who work as clerks in the United States Army “peons.”
Take it back.
It is a moral good for pro-lifers to disrupt the rites of the baby killers. It is a moral evil for baby killers to...well, to do anything in the cause of baby killing.
Good and evil not morally equivalent.
Bears repeating because truer words were never spoken on the subject.
Put her in a dress and smear a little lip stick on him and you’d never notice the difference.
Clearly, one cannot interrupt to the point of “interrupting” the rally. That is why you see protesters hauled off.
Exactly how would he do that?"
I keep asking the 20%ers (aka the Rudy apologists) exactly what Guiliani would do different than President Bush (or any Republican for that matterPaul doesnt even count) in the WOT?
I have offered a few ideas.
Push for more gun control?
Sue gun manufacturers?
Expand sanctuary cities?
Encourage more illegal aliens by telling them that they are NOT really illegal?
Encourage even more illegal immigration by publicly affirming citizenship for kids of illegals?
Refuse to prosecute illegals until they commit A SECOND crime (since they are already breaking the law by just being here)?
Allow gays to openly serve in the military?
Continuing to tell muslims that Islam is a great religion (like he did at the CNN debate)?
Locate emergency command centers to the most likely targets (like he did in NY)?
Make quality appointments to important positions like his recommendation to President Bush of Bernie Kerik to head Homeland Security?
It is OUTRAGEOUS to even think that we need a LIBERAL like Rudy to aggressively and successfully fight the WOT!
I dare say, SCOTUS has never issued any kind of decision that states: “legal protesters” SHALL behave in a “quiet and gentlemanly” way.
“By the way, I was referring to the teaching by St. Paul. He pointed out that lots of stuff is allowed, but that doesn’t mean it should be done.”
You are not thinking about the Paul of the Bible because he was no wimp...
Jesus used a whip to drive home his objections to the liberals of his day...
This was the standard set by Nana. So I asked her to hold her own views of productive protests to it.
It’s crazy, I did a quick search and it looks like most of the places that offer free ultrasounds are local “crisis pregnancy” centers. There doesn’t seem to be a concerted national effort to raise money for such a thing (at least not that I could find, so it’s not a really good effort if that’s the case). I found an article from the NYT discussing it back in 2005 when it was indicated that Focus on the Family in conjunction with the SBC was donating ultrasound machines to Crisis Preg Centers. Additionally, there was a statistic put out (take with grain of salt) that 90% of the women who saw the ultrasound decided AGAINST abortion. I don’t see how that could not be the case
Poster NYer also referenced an article about this back in Feb of 2007, which is when I first heard about it. I don’t know how to link & do that sort of stuff, but perhaps NYer has more info.
I am a firm believer that THIS is how you go about changing people’s minds about abortion— I know it changed mine & my husband’s when we were expecting our first, I know it changed numerous friends of ours. And I assure you, tactics like those referenced in the article, most people see and just roll their eyes at the “crazies” and write them off as kooks. That doesn’t exactly save babies.
Also, FYI, your local church or synagogue may have a pregnancy center that they help out (ours does).
That is because its been eons since you have seen Mrs. Clinton in a dress! LOL
Remember, crusty black pantsuit, peeu green blouse.
It certainly will gain Hildy some votes. And some cash.
Under all the circumstances, thank you!
I’d just as soon take out the abortionist garbage.
Next.
