RUDY RUNNING ON FUME$ (ex-finance co-chair now working at Giuliani Partners)
NY POST ^ | January 12, 2008 | CARL CAMPANILE

Posted on 01/12/2008 4:25:14 AM PST by Liz

Giuliani's top campaign staffers are working without pay and his national finance co-chairman has stepped down - signs of his presidential campaign's turmoil and financial difficulties........just weeks before the make-or-break Florida primary Jan. 29. The Giuliani campaign announced it had $7M to spend in the primary as of Dec. 31. But that doesn't include millions of dollars in TV ads since then..... national finance co-chair, Roy Bailey, has stepped down and is working at Rudy's firm Giuliani Partners.

IF---BIG IF---Giuliani is running short on funds---I find it hard to believe Rooty can't access the zillions he's got offshore----stashed all over the world in multiple companies he owns. He reportedly earn $one million dollars a month from his global financial interests. Hmmmmmm.....Rudy's national finance co-chair has stepped down and is working at Rudy's firm Giuliani Partners.

The latest FEC figures show Rudy Giuliani leads the SC (Jan 19) money game, then McCain, Romney and Thompson. For Michigan (Jan. 15) and Florida (Jan. 29). FEC has Romney leading Michigan and Giuliani ahead in Florida.

I DO find it believable that Giuliani's viability is tanking from the scandals attached to his name. Giuliani was hurt by scandals involving mobbed-up Bernard Kerik (Rooty's former bodyguard, driver, Police Commissioner and business partner---in that order).

PLUS Rudy's porking his mistress on the public dime and hiding the theft of public services in obscure city agencies, then lying about it to voters.

Unzipped Rudy is something else. Giuliani's messy personal life is a big turnoff to women voters. Rudy had no qualms causing the public humiliation of his second wife by dumping her at a news conference without even telling her. He tried to dump his two young kids out in the streets---saying he was dividing the Mayoral mansion in two---to move in his mistress.

It makes wives and moms around the country skeptical of putting him in the White House. If he can't control his zipper, how can he control the country? One news poll found 50% of women overall - and 48% of GOP women - are less likely to vote for Giuliani because he dumped his second wife Donna Hanover at a 2000 press conference.

A lot of women say Giuliani's assigning seven taxpayer-funded bodyguards/drivers to his girlfriend while his wife was still NYC's First Lady was EVEN WORSE than Rudy's public humiliation of the mother of his children."Rotten" is a word that came up again and again when women refer to Rudy. All of that could affect his fund-raising.

John McCain has been the main beneficiary of Rudy’s troubles.

Fred was so fantastic at the SC debate, he made Rooty look like a short, lisping, hunchbacked also-ran..............

Oh, wait a sec, Rooty IS a short, lisping, hunchbacked also-ran. LOL.

How would the Departure of Mitt or Rudy from the Race help or hurt Fred. (Discuss amongst yourselves.)

This site was far in front of the pack in pointing out that Rudy is a liberal Democrat with a (R) after his name. We predicted long ago that as people discovered his true agenda, the Republicans would reject him.

And this site is far behind in noticing that Romney is a mushyheaded, unprincipled liberal with an (I), supposedly now an (R) behind his name. The guy couldn't even own up to being a Republican during the Reagan years, when Conservative governing was at a pinnacle.

I believe that Rudy would be a good president. Quite better than what Bush has been.
He may not be my ideal candidate, but I would take him over Huck and Romney, whom I do not trust or McCain, who I do not trust and is too old.

Unless Fred wins SC and gains some momentum, I will vote for Rudy on the 29th.

1/11 GOPUSA SURVEY Of the declared candidates, who is your current choice for the Repub nom? This survey of conservatives shows Rudy’s huge drop among those who, regardless of their favorites, viewed him as the most likely to win the nom.....his steep drop is staggering.
Fred Thompson -- 32%
Mitt Romney -- 20%
Mike Huckabee -- 15%
Duncan Hunter -- 10%
Rudy Giuliani -- 8%
Ron Paul -- 7%
John McCain -- 5%
Alan Keyes -- 3%

'RUDY RUNNING ON FUME$'
I don't know why but this just makes me .. want to SING!!!
(okay, I know it's early in the morning, vol knob down to '11')
Running On Empty (midi 4:03)

Looking out at the road rushing under my wheels
Looking back at the years gone by like so many summer fields
In sixty-five I was seventeen and avoidin Viet-nam.
I don't know where Im running now, Im just running on

Running on - running on empty
Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
But I'm running behind

Gotta do what I can to keep my campaign alive
Trying not to confuse folks with all my other lies
In sixty-nine I was twenty-one and I called the road my own
I don't know when that road turned onto the road Im on

Running on - running on empty
Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
But Im running behind

(interlude)

Everyone I know, everywhere I go
People seem to refuse to believe
I don't care anyway, it's all about me
If it takes all night, that'll be alright
If I can just fool you before I leave

Looking out at the road rushing under my wheels
I don't know how to tell you all just how crazy this life feels
I look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through
But they're in jail now, maybe I should be running too

Running on - running on empty
Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
But I'm running behind

Judi you really tempt me
You know the way you look so fine
I'd love to stick around but I'm running behind
You know I don't even know what I'm hoping to find
Running into the sun but I'm running behind

(outro)

When it gets a little later, think I'll just have pull out my Fender© gee-tars and amp and play this for a couple hours or so :-)

Oops almost forgot.. © Jackson Browne (my bad)

I don’t watch much TV, but the other day I did see a Rudy ad here in Houston... Our primary isn’t til, March 4. A total waste of money IMO. I think he’s screwed-the-pooch on his campaign strategy.

We're still here. I'd prefer Fred, but if it comes down to a choice between McDole or Rudy...Rudy's my man.

As the old saw goes: Be careful what you wish for. If McDole runs the tables in MI and SC, there may be only one person who can stop him. We need Rudy to stay strong in FL.

I really don't like McCain, but the media keeps telling us he's the most liked and most electable. They're kidding themselves. He's too old, period. It will be Dole all over again---great resume, popular with the press, admired for his character....but unable to inspire voters.
