Nearly every day a tiny new development trickles out from the stealth presidential campaign of Michael R. Bloomberg, the billionaire mayor of New York.
He has talked with Chuck Hagel and Sam Nunn, potential running mates. He has delivered a tart critique of the presidential field. He is conducting intricate polling to test his appeal in all 50 states.
Mr. Bloombergs dalliance with the idea of running for president has stretched on and on, with his enthusiastic approval despite the public denials. But even before actually entering the contest, Mr. Bloomberg may have already risked losing something: peoples patience.
The political parlor game Will he run? When will he decide? How much could he spend? that has so delighted Mr. Bloomberg is suddenly sparking a backlash. Editorial pages from The Wall Street Journal to The New York Post, The Village Voice and The New Yorker have taken him to task. Members of the administration have been rolling their eyes and referring to Kevin Sheekey, Mr. Bloombergs political architect, as the deputy mayor for presidential politics.
And a recent poll conducted by Quinnipiac University found that 61 percent of New Yorkers thought Mr. Bloomberg had a moral obligation to serve out his full term. The survey, of 1,162 New York City voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points, also found that while 16 percent wanted to see him run for president rather than for governor, 32 percent did not want him to run for either office.

Actually, Bloomberg could help the GOP by taking away liberal votes from Hillary/Obama. Dont see him taking many conservative votes....I think conservatives are more keen on B’berg being liberal than they were keen on Rudy being a liberal
Come on Mother Bloomberg, be a hero and run.
Well if states didn’t insist on opening up primaries we’d see a lot fewer Republicans rushing to the middle during the primary. That’s what they have to do to win the nomination. Can’t the GOP just say...no, for members only? What’s the use of being in a party if anybody gets to pick your candidate for you?
“Calls Grow for Bloomberg to Make Up His Mind”
Actually, the calls aren’t growing, hence this article to spin things.
Some polling indicates that Bloomberg actually throws some of the indigo-blue northeast states like New Jersey into contention for the Republican candidate. Not every Democrat voter in the northeast is a Bolshevik! Bloomberg is not going to cause any harm in Ohio. My only concern would be Florida. And that would really depend on who the Republicans nominate and who the VP candidate is.
bloomberg would make it easier for a republican conservative but harder for a republican rino.
He would be to the Democrats what Perot was to the Republicans.
Not getting enough press, are we?
RUN, Bloomie baby!
I had the misfortune of hearing this putz speak at a plaque ceremony honoring two of NY’s Bravest at my father’s old firehouse in the Bronx a few months ago. I’d vote for the corpse those two idiots rolled down to the check cashing place the other day before I’d vote for Bloomberg for anything.
Bloomberg is no longer a RINO...he’s an IINO.
Republicans need to make it clear that he’s a Democrat.
I hope this is a joke. He has zero chance of winning. Same as Giuliani. People in NYC really don’t understand the rest of the country.
He'll pull votes from the "perfect worlders" on the Democratic side and deliver the election to the Republicans. I just hope we have a conservative running to beat him.
Only if the GOP runs a conservative. If the GOP nominates a RINO....feh. It won't matter who wins, including Bloombug. SSDC.
No agenda here. Divide and conquer.
If a politician says he is not going to run for a certain office, it means he is going to run. Politicians lie like a carpet
