Politics can be tough, dirty and unfair and those participating in it have to take the rough with smooth. I believe Reagan meant fellow conservative, you know back when all Republicans were true conservatives, not RINOS. I’m not so sure RR would sit by quietly while a liberal tried to win the Republican nomination.
