Fred probably thinks the Huckster is a bigger threat to him in SC than McCain is.

McCain's backstabbing of conservatives can be dealt with. Huckabee, however, can be a threat to Thompson for the whole South, not just South Carolina. Shore up his base.

"I like Fred a lot, but don’t make me unleash on his downside. It won’t be pretty. The guy is the Republican equivalent of a Charlie Wilson. "

you mean Fred's a politician ? how shocking ! I was thinking he was the republican equivalent of Jesus ! thanks for setting me straight [/sarc]

I noticed that as well. That had a whole thread about how Luntz’s group was phony. Does anyone know if tonight’s Luntz group is on line?

Huckabee just took a straight to the chin from Carl Cameron

More like Cameron tried to pull a Mike Tyson and bite off a piece of his ear.

question was: a woman should submit to her husband ?

And since you think that is a straight shot perhaps you can tell us how exactly the question referred to a political or policy issue, or has anything whatever to do with running for or being the President of the United States?

Cordially,

Sleep well!

You have lots of useless, self-serving commentary to post tomorrow!

I joined you in that. We need a strong real MAN for President. One who read Goldwater’s book the same time I did and with few exceptions stuck to conservative principles in his public life. He had no road to the Presidency conversions on key issues.

See how I would vote at 3599.

After you get past the Republican candidates then my cat Melvin has more common sense than the Democrats.

I am sure some grouchy FReeper will not see voting for SpongeBob Squarepants over Obama as being funny.

Thanks for the photo

>I must say, having seen the questions, more than ever I wish Duncan Hunter were there tonight. He and Thompson would have been able to tag team and nail all the others.<

I saw the clip of Fred. Until then, I really had my doubts about Fred.

But I agree. Both of them working together could have annihilated all of the others.

My optimism is returning.

Considering how poorly Paul presented himself in this debate, avoiding the spotlight may actually have been wise on his part. McCain was only slightly more coherent. There is a problem with people older than 70 running for President or any other public office. Mike Gravel has the same problem on the Democrat side. Few men are as able to overcome the problem as well as Ronald Reagan did.

Fred’s money moment (and Huckabee’s tired “over the target” comment), where Fred mentions the Reagan Coalition.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Sponge Bob will get all the young vote... he would be hard to beat if it wasnt for Melvin taking the soft, sensitive vote from Hillary...

Thankfully most Evangelicals can get past abortion and gay marriage (even though Thompson has just as strong a record as the Huckster on those two) and see that there are other issues to be dealt with as well. People like you are looking to be snubbed and anything less than your percieved perfect isn’t good enough so you feel slighted even when you haven’t been. Get over it already. Thompson didn’t blame anybody for anything. It’s just you and a few others looking to be offended that have their knickers in a knot because he dared to call out a preacher on his liberlism.

Thompson has to attack McCain in South Carolina and wherever else he is.

Just how many campaigns have you managed at the national level, to be saying what Fred 'has to' do.

Well that was Carl Cameron’s question and i thought it was kind of a not very political question too, but i think that Carl was trying to feel out how Huckabee would interject his religious thinking into his and our political life...i mean seriously, in this day and age would any politician say that a wife must subject herself to her husband ? Would many men—good men i’m talking about, not bums- say that to any woman ? What kind of question is that, other than one straight out of the Bible ?...
