How can all of these good, decent and conservative people be so wrong about Romney? LOL.

Monghan is on the outs with a lot of conservative Catholics. That he would support a fake like Romney is another bit of evidence that he may not be all that he seems.

That said, he could just be someone who is easily fooled by slick politicians. He wouldn't be the first one.

The forum needs a dose of humor this week.

He is an ardent pro-lifer, and a man deeply concerned with rescuing the culture.

I bet he's just faking it. /sarc

Thomas Monaghan, founding father of US fast-food group Domino’s Pizza, has decided to sell the business to Boston-based investment fund Bain Capital. The purchase price has not been confirmed, but is expected to be in the region of US$1bn (ECU862m) and includes around 90% of the group’s capital.

VEEEERY INTERESTING....

From within the GOP. Sad, really. Luckily, we don’t see any people on here like that.

Tom is a known supporter of Planned Parenthood and abortion. I haven’t been to Domino’s since learning about this.

I think many will move to Romney if Fred withdraws. What other serious option do we have? Rudy? Huck? McCain? Third party?- handing Hillary the win?

That's me, Thompson number one, Romney #2.

I shudder when I imagine a McCain/Thompson ticket.

Can you imagine the visual vs. Obama?

Two old geezers vs. the young energetic generation.

I like Fred’s positions, but he missed his chance.

Face it:

Romney is the best of a bad lot of choices for conservatives. He is a superb, rational, goal-oriented executive with a superb track record of both provate and pubic-sector success. He may seen to be a flip-flopper, but he did the best that could be done as governor of a Blue state with a veto-proof Democrat majority. Moreover, at least he says the right things — which is more than can be said of Giuliani, Huckabee or McCain.

McCain is pro-amnesty and pro-taxes, and too fond of Ted Kennedy.
Thompson (whom I would prefer) is going nowhere.
Hunter (whom I would also prefer) is going nowhere.
Huckabee is pro-amnesty and pro-taxes
Giuliani, great executive, but too flaky, and with a past that is too easy to trash.

FYI — for you social conservatives — please note that the president has no role to play in the COnstitutional amendment process. So a president’s impact on gay marriage is going to be nil. Also, the only impact a president can have on abortion is in SCOTUS picks. I trust Romney to pick strict constructionists more than I trust McCain, Huckabee or Giuliani.

Also, I think Romney will make Obama and Hillary look ridiculous on policy debates in the general election.

Flame away.

>That said, he could just be someone who is easily fooled by slick politicians.

Funny. We know so much from watching a few debates and reading press reports from MSM, while those who work with Romney and have had business dealings with the man for at least a decade are the ones who are fooled.

Kind of like the guy watching a grainy image of a baseball game arguing that an Ump is blind and how could he have not seen that ball go right over that plate...

Are you sure? I’ve heard the exact opposite. I dated a radical feminist once and she and her buds were boycotting Dominos and Coors because they believe they both had strong pro-life CEOs.
