>>You do realize that last summers Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill was not actually amnesty, right?<<
“...actually amnesty...” reminds me of “actually defrauding,” as in, “I sell used cars without actually defrauding buyers, even though I push the limits of what ‘defrauding’ means.”
“When _I_ use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.”
—Lewis Carroll, Through The Looking Glass
You do realize that last summers Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill was not actually amnesty, right?

Not Actually amnesty?????? Geez?
Indeed. Almost sounds like the words a liberal would think that a “conservative for McCain” would say, only no such animal exists. Sounds like a parody.
Sure there is. Cut illegal aliens off from all jobs and all taxpayer funded services. Let in additional legal immigrants to take the illegal aliens' places in the American workforce.
NO MORE AMNESTIES!
Internal enforcement of our immigration laws with employers can and will take a away their jobs and force them to leave.
Border enforcement can be improved with a fence to keep out those who would still come to remain in the underground economy.
We need to continue to pressure the congress..we need to undertake pressuring our state govts to do what AZ and OK have done.
The 1986 amnesity encouraged even more illegal immigrants.
The total lack of internal enforcement allowed them to grow and prosper outside the underground economy. Another amnesity would just bring 40 Million more.
No, our country would be committing suicide.
We have a right to national sovereignty and our own culture, not some other nation’s thrust upon us just because their country’s economy isn’t working well.
btt
MCCAIN/HUCK TICKET IS THE AMNESTY EXPRESS ....
Huckabee on President Bushs illegal immigration plan:
To think that were going to go lock up 12 million people, or even round them up and drive them to the border and let them go, might make a great political speech, but its not going to happen. What should happen, however, is exactly what I think the president has proposed, and that is that we create a process where people make restitution for the fact they have broken the law.
Its not an amnesty, and I know that there are some who think that anything less than essentially grabbing them by the nape of the neck and tossing them over a fence, real or imaginary, is amnesty. But I think thats ridiculous. And whether its Patrick Kennedy, Rush Limbaugh, or an illegal immigrant, there ought to be some rationality in how we apply our law. We do that every day.
Suddenly to say that these people that came over here to pluck a chicken, pick a tomato, or make a bed should suffer the full consequences of the law as if somehow theyve totally violated our peace and prosperity, is absurd.
Huckabee on the reaction to the immigration bill:
You cant get them off of it, and you cant have a discussion beyond the classic, what part of illegal do you not understand? I understand it correctly. I know exactly what that means.

Not if he wins the nomination!
He’ll have that s—t-eating grin he loves to display when a conservative gets body slammed.
Clemency-spree Huckabee on Amnesty:
I tend to think that the rational approach is to find a way to give people a pathway to citizenship. You shouldnt ignore the law or ignore those who break it. But by the same token, I think its a little disingenuous when I hear people say they should experience the full weight of the law in every respect with no pathway, because thats not something we practice in any other area of criminal justice in this country.
Egads!!!
We wore our phone dialing fingers out stopping it ... and were a few votes away from losing it ALL.
How foolish and reckless to think it wont rear its ugly head again if we reward any pro-amnesty politician with a PROMOTION.
“That remains to be seen. Why ask for trouble? Vote against McCain in the primaries.”
Exactly. VOTE NO ON MCCAIN. NO. NYET. NADA. NOT. A. CHANCE.
Kill his Presidential hopes and *then* the politicians will get the message - NO AMNESTY.
“Excuse me, but it was Republican voters who chose John McCain over his rivals in New Hampshire not the liberal mainstream media. You seem to lack faith in the democratic process.”
WRONG - IT WAS NH LIBERALS WHO CHOSE MCCAIN.
Liberals in NH voted for McCain, The comeback RINO, crazed and frequent backstabber of fellow Republicans ...

Why would anyone vote for McCain,
if they opposed Operation Iraqi Freedom?
Perhaps they fear the potential of Mr. Romney...
On most political matters,
do you consider yourself?
McCain received 47% of the very liberal vote.
Romney received 15% of the very liberal vote.
McCain received 18% of the very conservative vote.
Romney received 43% of the very conservative vote.
Which comes closest to your feelings,
about the Bush administration?
McCain received 41% Dissatisfied, but not angry.
Romney received 31% Dissatisfied, but not angry.
I’ve seen all types on FR and a lot of stuff I really disagree with, but that is the looniest thing I’ve seen in a loooong time.
“As a Christian, I see it as G-d’s will that we welcome these people into our country and help them become good Americans. It is His will that the liberal hedonists of the U.S. be replaced with their betters for their affront to His Word.”
You have GOT to be a troll, or very sarcastic ... or off your meds.
This guy sounds like a DU decoy. Too looney to be real.
LOL! I have the digital version of that NR issue, but when I save the image of the cover from the PDF file, the text ‘Let’s say it’s not an amnesty’ disappears. Do you have the same image with more pixels?
Was there any doubt?
You know, its surprising how quick we find it acceptable to just give up on the fight.
Hey, lets keep compromising ourselves all the way to becoming just like the Democrats.
Lets just give up and become a 3rd world cesspool.
It is like a guy who would spend his whole paycheck on lottery tickets because he just wants to win.
McCain/Huck=totally repulsive
