or maybe they just like the idea of commander in chief wearing magic underpants.

You're gonna incur the wrath of the Mormon Babblenackle Choir for that.

It also bears repeating that no candidate is going to have thw 1,191 delegates necessary to win the nomination outright.

Sounds good but where are you getting this from?

You can bet I'll never get to be a god over my own planet either.

I’m getting it from basic mathematics.
The new primary calendar has really turned everything upside down.
Just wait and see.

Do we have the primary calendar linked anywhere in our archives?

Well, the southeastern portions of our state (Idaho Falls and Rexburg for example) and to a certain extent the Magic Valley (Twin Falls, Jerome, Rupert, Burley, and so on) probably will give him most of his support. It’s not quite as significant here in Boise and in SW Idaho from what I’ve noticed, although I see Ron Paul stickers and signs everywhere I go around here.

Ketchum, Sun Valley and the north end of Boise are all commie backwaters. But I dont have much of a clue up north. EV, who you guys like up there?

The accelerated primary calendar has been one of the most discussed issues of the campaign season. That and the massive pile-up that happens Feb 5th. If you understand the impact of these calendar shifts on the race, then you will understand just how much different this primary will be than any other, and why.

No one is going to drop out in a field this congested. There are 5 strong candidates and 6 strong personalities. They all believe they have a shot, or can grab a seat at the table at the GOP convention. Super-Duper Tuesday hits like a train, and early. Everyone will stick around for it. With the way the primaries have gone so far, and with the divided factions each passionate about their candidate, there will continue to be no front runner going into Super-Duper Tuesday, and the results will be equally indecisive. Especially when considering that all of the big states divide up delegates district by district. There’s not going to be some big Giuliani sweep of the big states like he had foolishly planned. Maybe he’ll walk away with half of the big states’ delegates. Maybe. But that’s still not enough for half of all the delegates across the country. Usually the race narrows to two or three candidates quickly, and then one takes off and the big states that vote later coronate him. Not this time. This time 5 candidates will be splitting the delegates roughly evenly. They will need 50% but none will even have 30%. That should become clear after Feb. 5. There will not be a clear GOP nominee until one is announced in the dead of night at the GOP convention early in September.

Who is that perched atop the spire on this Mormon church? Whatever it is is is not a cross.

I drive by that place quite often. The architecture strikes me as Masonic and somewhat sepulchral. Nice flowers, though.

In the three stints I’ve had living in Boise, I can’t remember a time when the LDS Temple wasn’t on that intersection. My Mom hit a guy riding on a bike about a block from there when I was 5, I got sick at the McDonalds by there...even took a girl on a first date that lived about a half a mile from there.

*sigh* memories...

Yeah, the LDS churches, temples, meetinghouses, and so on never have crosses on them. I sent some spam emails to my LDS friends and I’ll let you know if they say anything about it.

So, the Mormons don’t have crosses on their churches, they have whatever it is on top of that spire instead. Why then is it I see so many threads here on FR with the Mormons claiming themselves bonafide Christians?

Seems to me they want to make it clear by not having a cross on top that they are Mormons and NOT Christians.

Right now I need to wait back for some emails instead of doing the damn research myself, so once I get those I’ll get back to you.

"Actually, he's the most liberal Governor in the history of the Republic.

Thanks for helping Romney every time you post. No one would be dumb enough to believe that statement.

You made some excellent points in your post.

Romney has a broader appeal than the other candidates that, imo, puts him in good stead. The other candidates have narrower markets to appeal to, niches, so to speak.

Someone on Hannity tonight said that there may not be a clear cut candidate having a path to the nomination, even after Feb 5th.

It is definitely going to be interesting!

I’ll ask you again, for the umpteenth time: Name one other Governor, of either party, who instituted gay marriage, completely homosexualized state government and the public schools, and signed a permanent “assault” weapons ban and socialized medicine, complete with taxpayer-funded abortions.
