An earthquake greater than 9.0 happened in 1700 off the coast of Washington State.
It caused massive tsunamis along the coast of what is now Washington State and Oregon. The waves went far inland.
Tsunamis caused by this quake also wreaked havoc in Japan.
Someday, this is going to happen again....not a pleasant thought. (This happens every 400 - 500 years).

Posters will usually post a link under the title, and it was done with this thread.
Click on the link for the source, it’s a pretty good one...

Created the Scablands, didn’t it? Not in the 1700s, but over time, or was that a glacial dam bursting...

"
I would think it would be mentioned on the news"
They will as soon as they can figure out how to blame it on Bush.

OK, that’s it!
Something MUST be done about Global Shaking.
We all know that Global Shaking is man made. All those human beings walking all over the place has obviously made the earths crust unstable.
And I don’t want any comments from you Global Shaking skeptics. We must do something and do it RIGHT NOW!
For the children of course.
