What makes you think a chief justice appointed by a pro abortion rino would look any different?

With McCain, Huckabee or Romney there is at least a good chance that an appointment will have some conservative principles. We probably won't get any Thomas's but at least a Kennedy. Can guarantee exactly what we will get with Clinton/Obama president, and it ain't pretty. I am not happy with the situation, but unless Fred surges before super Tuesday, those are the alternatives.

You don’t get it, Huck, Romnee and Gooli are the SAME as Hillary and Osmaboma! They will take our guns, legalize criminals, ROMNECARE and RAISE TAXES. Whats the difference?

My fear is that if one of the RINOs actually gets elected, the party will move irretrievably leftward.

If this happens (and I believe it is), it is because the BASE is drifting leftward. The problem is with US--not THEM.

Being a die-hard conservative and a firm Fred voter, I am extremely disappointed in the results of the Iowa primary. It tells me so-called "evangelicals" as as incapable of analyzing candidates in depth as any Democrat. The were bamboozled with Huck because "he stood up for his faith". Nevermind he disagreed with them on almost all other issues.

As a matter of fact, it taught me that issues don't really matter with Republicans any more than with Democrats.

I’m not going to “stay home to teach the GOP a lesson”. I will NOT however vote for McCain or Huckabee because I don’t like their policies and don’t think they are qualified to be president.

compromise

If you just set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing.- Margaret Thatcher

How do you know we wouldn’t get a Ruthie of Huck or McCain makes it into the White House?

Well I can say with 100% certainty what we'll get under a Clinton or Obama. Four aging older than dirt ultra liberal justices will have a chance to retire and be replace with four young ultra liberal justices. The chance to get a solidly conservative will be pushed back 25 years. Bush is a RINO too in may respects, but he gave us two young conservative appointments that gave conservatives a 15 year age advantage over the crusty liberal justices. A RINO is far from ideal, but giving a liberal a chance to reload the court is not an acceptable option. We are on the brink of locking up a conservative court for 25 years, let's not completely blow it.

If I thought they would, I would support them, I think the RINO's will do what the Dim's want them to.

It may take a real a## whipping in the general election to get the kind of house cleaning the party needs to move forward. Sweep away the dead wood. It will mean a tough period as the Rats run riot, but I really think it’s the only way forward.

Like everyone who supports the troops I will vote Republican in November.

If you vote for Hillary or Obama which this is what you are doing you are spitting in the face of the troops.

well I think a lot of people were worried that Rudy would win and that Fred is a virtual no show and he is not the savvy “Law and order” candidate that would blow everyone away. It’s hard to really trust Romney or McCain. So Huck wins by process of elimination and his ability to articulate at least some principles.

Do you remember how long it took the dems to get back in power?

I realize you put being a conservative above being an American isn’t that what we accuse the liberals of all the time?

I am still feeling sick for voting for the lesser of four evils GOP Governor in TX this last election cycle. I am a conservative before being a Republican, and I am tired of holding my nose when I vote.

RINO’s suck, and I’m not going to vote for one again. In Texas, all they have done is legislate more sin taxes, toll roads, and pass legislation that puts money in the pockets of their political contributors. If the GOP wants to go to hell in a handbasket, they can do it without my $$ or my vote.

“For all Freepers who plan to stay home on election day to teach the GOP a lesson!”

Freepers are smart people. They won’t stay home let a vote be counted for a Dem.

THANK YOU! It's always nice when you speak up and it backs up what we are saying/thinking. Especially when we "newbies" think differently than the long-er time posters.

I truly can't figure out what to do if there's not a Hunter/Thompson type candidate to vote for out here in CA. *sigh*
