In a stunning upset victory, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton beat Sen. Barack Obama in Tuesday's Democratic presidential primary election in New Hampshire.

I got to say the news reports today about the Democrats supposedly “running out of ballots” and having to bring in a bunch more does raise red flags in my mind. No. The "Wilder Effect" (named for Douglas Wilder) is in a race with a white and black candidtate, when whites tell pollsters that they are supporting the favored black candidate so the pollster won't think they are "racist", even though they intend to vote for the white candidate. This is also known as the "Bradley Effect" for Tom Bradley of L.A.

What ever happens in 2008 the Conservative Movement looks to be the big loser.

I get sick thinking about either of these lefties getting in the WH. I can think of nothing POSITIVE about either, with one 'POSSIBLE' exception.

If Obama is elected it may put to rest ONCE AND FOR ALL the notion that we are a RACIST NATION. I would expect to see the Jesse Jackson's and Al Sharpton's of our nation slink quietly into the night.

As wonderful as my hypothesis is, I believe the price is TOO HIGH to pay. For the utter chaos that will ensue from our withdrawal from Iraq, the loss of our world standing and the leftist policies that will be put in place [etc. etc. etc.] will devastate our economy and ruin our country!!

It seems to me that the Clintons use psychology - and anything else necessary - to influence and control the masses. I think his hissy fit today and her wistful little girl performance were psychological acts orchestrated by someone with a lot of experience in manipulating the masses to regain the demographics they had lost. Only problem with that “Turnout effect the results” analysis is it does not explain how the Pollsters got it right right down the line for all the other candidates except the Obama-Hillary and McCain-Romeny numbers. If turnout was responsible, they should of been wrong across the board, not just in the predictions for McCain and Obama

You may be right. But what I can't figure is, why is there a shortage of solid conservatives of presidential caliber? The principles are well known -- low taxes, limited gov't, strict constructionist judges, free trade, sound money, pro-life, strong defense, etc. Doesn't anyone with an interest in being president believe in those anymore?

My bet is that some Independent voters, thinking that Obama was now a sure win, decided to try to control the outcome of the Republican race and voted for McCain instead.

I think that made some of the difference for Hillary, not just the emotional moments, and made McCain’s win bigger.
