Yesterday it was Hillary's turn to get emotional, and today Bill gave it a try. He got angry with the press for what he called "sanitizing coverage", providing the rest of the nation a window into the frustration setting into the Clinton campaign as it faces a second big loss in as many tries:
The former president briefly acknowledged that his wife's senior campaign advisor, Mark Penn, was mistaken to claim that Obama had no bounce out of Iowa after winning the state's caucuses because the poll numbers on the day after were relatively unchanged.
Then he abruptly changed the subject suggesting that Obama's campaign had employed underhanded tactics.
"What did you think about the Obama thing calling Hillary the senator from Punjab? Did you like that? Or what about the Obama handout that was covered up, the press never reported on, implying that I was a crook. Scouring me scathing criticism over my financial reports. Ken Starr spent $70 million and indicted innocent people to find out that I wouldn't take a nickel to see the cow jump over the moon.
"So you can take a shot at Mark Penn if you want. It wasn't his best day. He was hurt. He felt badly we didn't do better in Iowa," said Clinton. "But the idea that one of these campaigns is positive and the other is negative when I know the reverse is true and I have seen it and I have been blistered by it for months is a little tough to take. Just because of the sanitizing coverage that's in the media doesn't mean the facts aren't out there."
Well, how many people do we need to pity here, exactly? Yesterday, Hillary let us know how hard it is to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune on a campaign trail. She has to eat fast food, she doesn't get her exercise, and we should all care about how much she's sacrificing for all of us! Today, we should pity Mark Penn because he had a bad day, which of course is because of all of us and the media.
Hey, didn't these people sign up for this voluntarily? Don't they get to lead the Free World if they win? Will the White House host regular pity parties, or only occasionally?
Bill seems to be the party coordinator. He's complaining about underhanded tactics from Barack Obama? Perhaps Bill might want to review which campaign dug up kindergarten essays for a basis of criticism, and whose campaign second talked about how much more black Bill was from Barack. The only people to blame for the negative coverage that has centered on Hillary is the candidate herself and the team that has stumbled constantly since the beginning of November.
If the Clintons want to talk about Obama's voting record and lack of experience, then do so. Quit digging through his elementary school record and lack of appropriate ancestry, and you may have more credibility when you call for the waaaaambulance.
Hillary is leading in New Hampshire in the latest vote count.
This bastard sold our national defense secrets to the Chinese for campaign donations and has the audacity to claim that he is wrongfully accused.
I thought Drudge or RCP just reported a late 15% that flipped it back? I’ll check.
CLINTON 40; OBAMA 36;
-Number of Starr-Ray investigation convictions or guilty pleas (including one governor, one associate attorney general and two Clinton business partners): 14
- Number of individuals and businesses associated with the Clinton machine who have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to crimes: 47
- Number of these convictions during Clinton's presidency: 33
- Number of indictments/misdemeanor charges: 61
- Number of congressional witnesses who have pleaded the Fifth Amendment, fled the country to avoid testifying, or (in the case of foreign witnesses) refused to be interviewed: 122
- As of June 2000, the Justice Department listed 25 people indicted and 19 convicted because of the 1996 Clinton-Gore fundraising scandals.
- According to the House Committee on Government Reform in September 2000, 79 House and Senate witnesses asserted the Fifth Amendment in the course of investigations into Gore's last fundraising campaign.
-James Riady entered a plea agreement to pay an $8.5 million fine for campaign finance crimes. This was a record under campaign finance laws.
Maybe I’m paranoid...but watch that video of Hillary tearing up. I find it odd that her finger goes up almost to her eye just before the tears appear
Media calls it for McCain but not for Obama who is clearly projected winner. Media bias or fear of Clintons.
They say Mitt lost twice so he is done. Of course Hillary lost twice but is still alive. Mitt came in 2d in both states, won Wisconsin, and will win Michigan. But they can’t bring themselves to use same standard with Hillary as with Mitt.
Someone should tell Bill to STHU.
The Hillary crying ploy must have worked. They knew it would
Notice that in the video she says “I have so many opportunities FROM this country; not FOR this country.” That’s pretty telling.
Need to keep those numbers Out There!
The article is a few hours old. Sorry that part of it is out of date already.
Gore, who had long been wary of Penn and concerned that his real loyalty was to Clinton and first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. His senior advisers agreed, regarding Penn as arrogant and controlling, someone who pushed the boundaries of his job by dispensing strategic advice rather than simply interpreting data. Shortly after the meeting with Gore, Penn was fired.
The DU seems to think NO in a recent poll taken.
Hope she wins. I have said it before. She is beatable.
answered my own question if what is written is entirely correct
Hope she wins. I have said it before. She is beatable.

She certainly is ... the only bad news out of NH is the high turnout ,, obama has the rats riled up! If hillary can hang on through her expected Carolina loss into super tuesday they will give her the nomination in a brokered convention and alienate their black base in the process... Why can’t we turn them?
How short some folk's memory is.
Have they so quickly forgotten the lies, thefts. wide open adultry, and total disdain they both exibited for this country and it's laws?
I haven't and never will!
