A couple of yahoos interrupted Hillary Clintons speech tonight in Salem by waving big signs and chanting Iron my shirts!
Clinton asked that the lights be turned on, apparently to see them better and declared. Oh the remnants of sexism, alive and well tonight, to applause.
She then talked about breaking glass ceilings, before joking as the pair were hustled out: If theres anybody in the audience who wants to learn to iron his own shirt, we can talk about that.
We followed.to ask what the heck they were thinking.
Nick Gemelli, who is 21, and born at least a decade after iron my shirts was an anti-womens rights slogan, didnt have much of a rationale. I just dont think a woman should be President, he said.
He couldnt really say why, but he agreed that he was a health care voter, as the sticker on his carrying case implied. The Hillary for President sticker was a bit more of a puzzle.
He said he had just been given both and peeled them off. He said he had no connection to any campaign.
At least he got some attention. His friend a la Bart Simpson said his name was Hugh Jas, but The Mouth later learned that his real name is Adolfo Gonzalez Jr.
Update Adolfo apparently has a MySpace page that says he is a Republican who doesnt do drugs or have a girlfriend, and calls himself Captain Fun. He did seem to enjoy himself more than Nick.
What did Jesus specifically TELL her to DO in regards to the church?
I disagree Johnnie...
James Dobson had and still has a huge radio audience.
I believe he was a “king maker” in the ‘92 election.
Dobson is way more influential and responsible than
you give him credit.
I have been listening to talk radio all my life (Class
of ‘72). The number of listeners is certainly larger,
but conservative talk radio has been here for a very
long time. My mother listened to AM in the 60’s. It
was more underground, but it was there.
Just thought you may want to update the title. The guy that held the sign is a conservative-leaning radio shock-jock... See post #135 for the details... and post #137 for a link...
You’ll always be my pingy. LOL!
You are right. It’s a “hillary vast left-wing
conspiracy.”
LOL!!!
... and further...
Talk radio has been around since the first commuter
rush hour. When my Dad was driving we would listen
classical muson on KPOL in Los Angeles. But when my
Mother was driving the dial was on KABC News Talk Radio
with Paul Harvey Sr., Mr. Blackwell, Michael Jackson
(not the pedophile), Ray Briem and others whose names
I forget. This was early 60’s. Shoot, Ronald Reagan
was often a guest on these talk shows.
The rest of the world may have just caught on, but my
Mother was a “Fountainhead”... a John Birch Fountainhead.
This ought to get fems worked up.Twenty bucks says these jerks were not only paid to create a disturbance, but Hills “clever” comments were scripted.I imagine at this point,Hillarys people are getting pretty desperate.
I agree that it was limited, but...We had Gordon Liddy, Barry Farber and Pat Buchanon (Pat along with a liberal talking head on his gig) doing daily radio shows in 1992.
Liddy... that’s right. I forgot about his show.
At the time, I was mostly listening to Christian
talk radio because my kids were young AND I hadn’t
found Rush Limbaugh yet.
Don’t forget Radio Free Europe!
Radio has been a powerful tool for truth for a
long time.
Voters with an I.Q. in triple digits are not Hillary's target market.
Me too - staged. I doubt it takes much to whip up a fake My Space page. Republicans who take the time to actually go to a rally are smart enough to come up with an legitimate reason why she shouldn’t be president, such as being a socialist. This seems totally contrived.
The ‘reverse sexism’ thing you talk about reminds me of discrimination claims.
When minorities apply for a job they expect equal treatment and will raise heck if they find out they were not offered the job due to race.
But they have no problem accepting a job simply because of their race due to minority quotas and affirmative action that they are not qualified for.
Hillary doesn’t want people to vote for the other guy just because he is male but will gladly accept a vote based on ‘the first woman president’.
Whoever predicted it was a radio stunt seems to be right:

oh this is getting beyond sad now.. it’s pathetic! Hillary does not deserve the POTUS title at all. What card is she gonna play next? If that guy is not a plant then I did not post this message.
This sure sounds like a planned event. She needed to look strong after the teary eyed response from the other day.
Hey, you’re right. A glance at their other videos shows that some feature this guy Adolfo too, and if you scroll down on his my space page, he’s worked for several different radio stations.
Hillary’s farts do not smell.
