It won't come across on the transcript, but Sen. Hillary Clinton got angry during the debate tonight.
She was bickering with Sen. Barack Obama about their differences on health insurance, and whether Obama's plan leaves millions of Americans uninsured.
And then she well she got angry.
Frankly, I don't even really understand what she was saying. What I was getting was how angry she is. Not about an issue, so much, as about the fact that Obama is beating her.
The clip, I predict, will be played again and again and again.
Pundits will say that her tone made male voters recoil. And led some female voters to sneer.
Clinton people are spinning this as her projecting strength. I do not think that will be the widely-head view.
HERE's THE VIDEO LINK, already posted by Clinton enemies and the debate isn't even over yet.
Tell me what you think.

UPDATE: She just had another weird moment, too, where she seemed to blame Natalie Sarkisyan's death on John Edwards' inability to get the Patients Bill of Rights passed in the House.
I should add that this angry Hillary Clinton is NOT one I've ever seen at the Senate, on the stump, or in interviews. But I fear her performance tonight, in contrast to Obama's coolness and Edwards' Southern drawl, feeds into stereotypes about her. She tried to address this by dismissing "likeability" as a factor -- that Americans in 2000 would have preferred to have a beer with George W. Bush than Al Gore, and look how that worked out. But still.
Yep, we agree.
THere were two very interesting moments for her that nobody has mentioned because it is hard to describe them but they revealed what kind of person she is to deal with.
The times were when she sort of leaned back with a hateful smirk on her face, I don’t have the words to describe them, and you could just see her in a meeting putting people down. She was arrogant and petty at the same time.
I wish I had a tape of them. THose were her nastiest moments, the most revealing.
Freepers are seeing this as “the scream”. I think that is wishful thinking. SHe has enormous strength and I don’t know that she can be stopped.
BUt Obama looked good I have to say. He is finding his footing.
Too many pixels, way too many pixels.
I sort of have to agree with you. Let me make clear that I’m no fan of Hillary. But she was assertive and passionate in a way that were she a male, would have been a plus for her.
Probably didn’t want a server crash...
I got that photo, BTW, from a Reuters piece in the Times Colonist, Canadian Press.

If I recall right, the MSM also dubbed out the audience to make “the scream” seem much worse than it actually was. They are snakes in the grass and you are absolutely right, the MSM has taken over the election process.
hilary SUX.

After all these posts, I think I agree with you most on all of this.
I have seen Hillary far more out of control than she is here. She seemed taken aback momentarily and then a bit put off, but this is very typical of her.
All this actually does dishearten me a bit. I absolutely want her to be the Democrat nominee. For one thing, I actually think she’d smite the Hugo Chavez’ in the world or anyone who dared challenge her authority on an international scale—probably moreso than some Republicans running. But for the most part, I just think she’d lose.
All that said, I think the media is making a deliberate attempt, as you say, to mangify her every move right now.

She didn’t drop any “F” bombs or break any lamps, but for the first time I did feel a little sorry for old Bill.
Yeah HDTV is not her friend
This is a still shot of him captured when Hillary started speaking.
Thanks—that’s a comment I heard from my brother. He really is taken aback by what he says is the bitter viciousness he can sense right under the surface, just waiting for something to trigger it...
wow, if hillary were elected,
it’d be kkkulture wars everyday,
of an intensity never seen in american politics.

As time goes on, she will get more and more desperate and lose her grip. I think the pressures of the campaign are enough to do it to anyone, but especially if she loses Tuesday.
Doc’s gonna have to bump up her Prozac prescription!
“Yeah HDTV is not her friend”
Yeah, bad timing on that little invention... haha
...and no, I do no want to watch her age in the white house! Rush, thanks for that nightmare image. :(

The video “Undecided Voters in New Hampshire” is still on youtube, and has gotten 42,000 viewers in 8 hours.
It is devastating news for the Clintons, if at all representative. We have learned to be suspicious of the selection process for these televised events, but if one may trust this room full of voters, Clinton has a nasty case of cooties.
