Starting today, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul is running a television ad - titled "Defender of Freedom" - in South Carolina.
"Congressman Paul has an unmatched record of defending the rights of Americans," said Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "This advertisement is about bringing Dr. Paul's message of freedom, peace and prosperity to potential voters. The more people know about Dr. Paul, the more support he gains."

Ron Paul has some good ideas on domestic policy. Hopefully, he can impact the public dialogue.
How does he say, “the defender of freedom”, when he wont defend freedom.
I think Ron Paul means freedom within the borders. He has some good ideas about domestic policy. It’s too bad that his sanity stops at the water’s edge.

I think his actual achievements in Congress are almost nil, except for his earmarks for the shrimp industry.

U.S. carrier help? (Admiral offers help to China)
Adm. Tim Keating, the U.S. Pacific Command leader, told reporters during his visit to China last month that while building and operating a carrier battle group is complex, the United States is willing to help.

Some China firms avoid U.S. technology transfer licenses
WASHINGTON: Six months ago, the U.S. government quietly eased some restrictions on the export of sensitive technologies to China. The new approach was intended to help U.S. companies increase sales of high-technology equipment to China despite tight curbs on sharing technology that might have military applications.
But now the administration is facing questions from weapons experts about whether some equipment - newly authorized for export to Chinese companies deemed trustworthy by Washington - could instead end up helping China modernize its military. Equally worrisome, the weapons experts say, is the possibility that China could share the technology with Iran or Syria.
The technologies include advanced aircraft engine parts, navigation systems, telecommunications equipment and sophisticated composite materials.
What is one thing Paul has accomplished to defend freedom?
I believed I heard him call America "War Mongering" tonight.
During the Clinton Presidency, the US Military was ordered on more foreign expeditions than during the five previous administrations, combined.
The US has 10% more foreign military installations now than we did before Bush took office. Afghanistan and Iraq obviously, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Ubekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other ‘Stans, a constellation of bases in the Sahel, and others across the world.
Use your own definition of “war mongering”, and your own idea about “best defense is a strong offense”, and ask yourself if this can’t easily construed as “war mongering”.
The other candidates basically made a fool out of themselves giggling and shouting down Ron. In a state like NH, that’s not going to look good for them.
I am a Libertarian by philosophy. A Republican in reality. Note my handle. I’m sorry, but I can’t support Ron Paul at this time. I have profound and serious issues with Huckelbee, but when Paul labeled him “fascist” because Huck just might have ever-so-subtly insinuated his Christian beliefs he lost what little support I might have had for him. Why do Libertarians always feel the need to wear tin-foil hats to support our candidates?
There isn’t one.
President Paul would have a Congress at least as hostile to him as the ones he has been in. None of his platform would pass, except his surrender to Islamofascism (thanks to treasonous Demonrats). For all practical purposes, Ron Paul would be a "Republican" Kucinich. I think he implicitly acknowledges that, because his maniacal screech escalates in volume and pitch when he moves to his antiwar rhetoric from his small-govt. talking points.
