(UPI) -- Iraq has stopped exports via its northern pipeline because storage tanks in Turkey have been filled.
Abdul Razzak Mohammed al-Jiboori of the North Oil Co., a state-run firm, said levels will be drawn down over the next few days after expected sales.
Iraq Directory reports the storage reservoirs in Ceyhan, Turkey, reached 6.8 million barrels of oil produced from the Kirkuk oil fields.
This is a major feat considering the pipeline from Kirkuk to Ceyhan was mostly offline since 2003 because of attacks from insurgents.
In August the Iraq Oil Ministry said repairs and revamped security of the pipeline would improve it.
Iraq was averaging about 2 million barrels per day production last year but ended November 2007 averaging 2.4 million bpd, largely because of northern improvements.

From either Party. If one of the Repubs would stand up for the troops and claim their victory, he would run away with this thing. But no, they’re all afraid what the press will say.

I believe the MSM...you must be kidding....you must believe what the gov. tells you...frankly I don’t find either to be reliable sources of information.
I hope you post the announcement and figures when we get that first payment from the “agreement” you referred to as being set up in 2006. I could very well have missed that announcement, so I’m not saying it isn’t in place...I’m just saying "show me the money", so to speak...and after all, we do have to remember this gov. loves to make decisions behind closed doors. I don’t take the word of my gov. or the media...”show me the money”.

At the same time Russian oil/gas production is moving right along. The ME has a lot of reserve. Seen somewhat historically, as portrayed in ‘The Prize,’ production has always in the past century gone from impending catastrophic shortage to impending catastrophic over-production. This is where the President has his real work, keeping the oil companies and oil producing and oil consuming countries working at a fairly smooth steady pace as much as the influence of the USA allows.

I do hope Iraq has big plans on creating new petrochemical and associate type industries, say, firms specializing in lubricants, oils for various type industrial process, say rolling oils used in all types of steel forming processes, etc., etc..
It could go a long way in employing a lot of Iraqi willing to learn trades, chemist, etc..
Let them get so involved in modernization, and putting people to work in the hundreds of side line businesses that can support the heavy industry, that they don't have time to sit around and ponder what to do next.
Busy people and governments with goals don't have time to plan how to make life miserable for others.
They should get in bed with Israel with honest business interchange, and tell the radical muslim world to go to hell.

Please excuse the double response... You know...if the oil money is getting paid into the International Monetary Fund...please explain how we, the United States, are repaid...now I may be naive, but whenever I think of the U.N.,I think of how they just can’t wait to get their hands on our money...and since the IMF is connected to the U.N., I wouldn't’t place any faith what so ever in either of those organizations.
When I speak of getting our money back, I mean the tax dollars that have left our coffers to fund the war..OUR tax dollars. Where does it say that the IMF will hand over to our country, money to put back into the federal “piggy”bank, as replacement of the money we spent fighting this war...why can’t Iraq pay us directly?....because the damned UN has it’s nose in every facet of our nation's affairs.

I’m a bit busy at the moment and I’m not at home where I have bookmarked the links.
I grabbed a link to point out that Iraq *is* repaying debts they owe.

Can't win for losing, can we?
RuPaul stated tonight in the debate that we are taking their oil.
If that's true...GOOD...they have too much of it. ;o)
