I agree, FR is a great site but one has to go elsewhere for info on RG, other than watching and listening to him for decades, one can watch utube videos of his pressers, his townhalls, his speeches, his policy paper releases, his arguments and responses to bogus attacks.

C-Span has them also, and political mag sites like NR have good info.

I hope he and FT stay in the race, they are a tough couple of guys for sure. RG was not a social ideologue for many reason, but his political actions while governing were no nonsense, accomplished, and got results. Very few pols have those attributes. He governed unapologetically and was unafraid to take on entrenched bureaucracy, another good and different trait for a pol, imo.

No, your statement was anti-Christian (whether you’d like to admit it or not) because your dismissal of Dobson is founded in his commitment to Christ. You are not anti-Christ, your stance against Dobson comes across as anti-Christian.

FWIW, Dobson is more inclined to vote for Romney than Huckabee. While Dobson has decided never to vote for anyone who is “pro-choice,” he hasn’t decided only to vote for those who hold his doctrinal stances. He may yet come out for Thompson, though that appears unlikely.

It’s possible that Theo was right and that the poster was engaging in anti-christian bigotry.

Since you’re accusing him of hiding behind a cliche, we’ll leave it to you to come up with a definition of anti-christian bigotry that we can all agree on as freepers, and see whether or not this met the case.

Anyone who criticizes Dobson because of his faith is, by definition, anti-Christian. Not “anti-Christ” (how would I know that?), but “anti-Christian.”

Too many FReepers are too easily dismissive of Christian leaders. It gets old. It puzzles me why we’re so quick to denounce Christians who happen to be in the limelight....

Why should Thompson care what Dobson thinks about his christianity? He doesn’t dance to Dobson’s tune, remember.

Is Thompson like you, considering Dobson to be a jackass? You yourself point out that not all christians are evangelicals. It appears that Thompson does not want the evangelical vote. He does not self-identify as an evangelical.

I would very much prefer a Christian candidate. I prefer one that tells the truth even more.

It’s interesting that the same sneaky vibe surrounding the Dobson e-mail “mistake” has also emanated from the Huckabee campaign. IMO.
***What incident are you talking about now?

It appears that Thompson does not want the evangelical vote. He does not self-identify as an evangelical.

*******************

I'm a Catholic, but I despise Giuliani. Are the Evangelicals committed to voting only for an Evangelical? If so, I wonder why they would bother registering as Republicans.

Why should Thompson care what Dobson thinks about his christianity?

Because it's a rude, presumptuous insult.

He doesn’t dance to Dobson’s tune, remember.

Only a fool would.

Is Thompson like you, considering Dobson to be a jackass?

Ask him.

It appears that Thompson does not want the evangelical vote.

It might appear that way to you.

He does not self-identify as an evangelical.

Is that necessary? Do you only vote for evangelicals? Do you claim evangelicals only vote for other evangelicals?

But it’s not self-explanatory. I’m not criticizing Dobson because of his faith. I’m criticizing him because of his shabby, presumptuous, prideful behavior.

***No, it’s just a strong tendency, as shown by what happened in Iowa.
