APOPKA, Fla. -- A Central Florida man is accused of pouring hot cooking oil on a 17-month-old and using a hair dryer to burn his skin off because the toddler apparently would not stop crying and whining.
Police said Darlanne Toussaint was charged with felony attempted murder on suspicion he abused his girlfriend's son in an Apopka apartment building Thursday.
The mother of the child, Marlita S. Stokes, 23, was arrested on Friday and faces charges of child neglect and providing false information to police.

Matthew 18: 6-7
“6”: But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
“7”: Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
I'd love to do whatever I could to help him get there!
IMHO this guy needs to be burned & if he whines & cries burn him some more.
Too quick. Get a sharpened stake.
I spilled hot coffee on a bare leg a few months back. Just a momentary splash did the job — a second-degree burn about the size of my hand. The pain was terrible and the injury disgusting. And that was miniscule compared to what this poor child is suffering.
There is no punishment bad enough for the monster who did this. The unfortunate thing is that we don’t have anything bad enough on the books. He’ll just be sent away — for a while.
I’m with you on that one.
The one in the background, I presume.
I volunteer to be the pourer.
Good for you... but I'll bet you're a lot more guilty of accepting those things than you're willing to admit.
Meaning....?
Apropos of nothing, I was once with a friend when he goofed off and dang near did exactly that.
Sadly, they’ll say this crime doesn’t warrant the death penalty.
I disagree.
Oh...okay. And pouring hot cooking oil and burning off a baby's skin will make the baby........stop crying? This guy should be strung up in the desert sun and have hot cooking oil poured all over him.....leave him hang and let the Santa Ana winds blow on him.
You can count me out with your blame game.
I read the headline, and cringed. Didn’t want to read it. (Still don’t!) People who harm our precious little ones should be (remainder of post self-deleted.) Believe me, if I posted what I just deleted, I would be banned.
I mean “we” as a culture, of which you are a part. You can claim your hands are clean, and maybe they are ... but my point is that it’s a cultural thing, for which the blame spreads pretty widely. Deny it if you will, but unless you’re actively working to change the culture, and not just going along and wringing your hands about it ... you’re part of the problem, just like I am.
I cannot be held responsible for the evil actions of others. Just as it is not on my personal conscience what atrocities Hitler committed. He owns them himself, as does every single person who makes evil choices.
I am responsible for how I raised my children, for how I treat others, for what I personally choose to do in my own life.
The “culture” as it now is is also not of my own doing. It is and has been the work of socialists, atheists, non-believers, antagonists of God, the culture of death (abortionists, euthanasia advocates, etc.), and the greedy, and, once again, I have no part in that culture. Rather, they are forcefully infusing their sick culture into the mainstream, by hook or by crook, contrary to anything which I and many others, like me, have tried to fight.
To those who have been indifferent to these changes lo these past 50+ years, they all may rightly share in some blame as to what their evil choices have propagated into America.
But in the end....being brought up in a poor culture does not excuse nor take away personal responsibility from someone’s personal, willful, evil choices.
My daughter got the book A Child Called It for Christmas and wanted me to read it after she did. I finished it last night and this was a horrid reminder of it. My body just shuddered thinking about it.
