NEW YORK—ABC News is eliminating Republican presidential candidate Duncan Hunter and Democrats Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel from its prime-time presidential debates Saturday night because they did not meet benchmarks for their support.
The Republican debate three days before the New Hampshire primary will include Iowa caucus winner Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. It starts at 7 p.m. EDT.

When you take imitation anything and put it side by side with authentic, people see the authentic.
Separated though, it is easier to fool people.
Having Paul on the stage is being done to embarrass Republicans and to give them less credibility.
It is kinda like putting the crazy uncle in the middle front of the photo at the Family Reunion.
With all the credibility given for mythical “electability”, I would be happy to see some debates between republicans and democrats before we have a nominee.
As things stand now they all claim to be the electable candidate but for all we know they’ll turn into pudding when faced with a real democrat. And then it’s just too late.

Well put.....both parties seem to be more in tune w Commie China than the USA.
Note that the only candidate truly tough on Commie China, Duncan Hunter, is getting shut out of the debate
He voted for the wall, increased funding for border patrol agents and voted/proposed eliminating all benefits for illegals. Next question.
If Thompson wants my vote he’ll have to pick Hunter as his running mate. That is if Thompson gets that far.
Man, some folks around here are going to go ballistic ... He never stood a chance though, 99.987% of Americans have never heard of him.

When Hunter was on New Hampshire Public Radio, some lefties called in. It was great. He didn’t attack, he answered questions and explained. I thought it was the best interview he ever did.

I think you posted that on another thread, honestly, Montana? That wouldn’t even get 3 minutes on a news cycle, you need to face it that it’s over for Hunter, he might be a good man, the best guy to be president, but it’s just not in the cards ... (I’m not saying it’s fair either)
That is the scenario where Hunter would lose my support. Thompson being anywhere on the ticket. I’ve no idea what I would do then.
The people will have to elevate Thompson into the position with their own two hands while all the established elite, in all the four corners of the earth, are bucking and screaming.
It can be done...it needs to be done.
The American people do have a say, most just don't want to exercise their right to have that "say". Yesterday, every adult citizen (with some shameful exceptions e.g. soldiers) of Iowa had the chance to have their "say" about who they wanted to be the candidates for president. Only a tiny minority used this opportunity to have input into the selection process. Whether there really is only 400 or so Iowans who support Duncan Hunter will never be known. That's how many put out the effort to vote for him. Real preferences for other candidates is likewise unknowable.
The majority of U.S. citizens appear to be quite comfortable with letting others choose for them who will be the candidates. No matter what selection system exists is of little concern to the majority because they choose not to take part in the process.
We, collectively, get what we deserve.
It was inevitable. Best conservative, but the least electable.

Do you have any idea what your talking about? Have you ever read Marx or did you just see the word "collectively" and, not understanding, thought it would be a good place to respond with a post containing the name Marx?
Or maybe they are including Paul because he got almost as many votes as McCain and Thompson in Iowa and nearly three times as many votes as Guilliani. And maybe they aren’t including Hunter because Hunter was only able to get a measly less than 1% of the vote in Iowa. Paul got around 20 times as many votes as Hunter. Hunter is out this race. The only people that don’t know that yet are Hunter and his most ardent supporters.
