For Tom Tancredo, who stepped out of the Republican race to support Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee's runaway win in Iowa on Thursday spelled big trouble for the Colorado congressman's anti-illegal-immigration cause.
"It's a discouraging thing," Tancredo said. "Because, really, to tell the truth, the real winner in this thing is McCain. . . . I think he's the worst in the bunch."
During his run for the GOP presidential nomination, Tancredo whose single issue was a hard-line stance against illegal immigration deeply criticized John McCain, the Arizona senator, for reform measures Tancredo equated with amnesty.
Tancredo said he thought Romney could fight back, if he had the will. Asked whether he wished he had remained in the race, Tancredo said no, adding that he was happy to be home with his family in his Littleton district. "I'd rather be here tonight than anywhere in Iowa," he said, laughing.

Most of you probably won't believe this, but Huckabee wants to take back the borders - hope Tancredo will endorse him ...

I don't.

Huck and Tancredo’s positions on illegal immigration are almost identical. If you go to Huck’s site it’s all spelled out.

Well, to be just putting it mildly, Huckabee is overselling himself on this issue.
He claims to have ordered crack downs on illegals as governor but never signed the agreement with the Feds that would have permitted it. Now, as candidate needing our votes, he is telling us he is ready? Sorry not buying it.

So we’re to believe what he says now, versus what he actually did as governor ?
Tell me, what was the cause of his conversion ?

Gov. Huckabee's support of in-state tuition for children of illegals is compatible with his Pro-Life position - you don't throw away kids because of the sins of their parents.
Moreover, that tuition waiver had several thresholds a student had to meet, ie; (nearly 4.0 average etc). It was a very modest proposal for a problem he didn't create ...

You can vote on his history or on Huck's stated position,...Or I can do neither.
Huck's on my "Absolutely Will Not Vote For" list, sharing that position with John McCain.

Mike Huckabee spent years as governor trying to import as many illegals as possible and you want us to believe that he now wants the exact opposite of his life's work?
You need to sober up, as does the Tanc, who discredited himself by endorsing Romney.
If you want conservative policies, vote conservative, not socialist.
Support Fred Thompson.

This is why he endorsed Mitt, the guy who has illegals working on his property?
He should have endorsed Hunter or Thompson.
The man doesn’t know what he stands for, it appears. It’s good he’s out of the race.
To: Soliton
Huckabuck is a populist.
Not a conservative.
