It was inevitable, the media and her vast army of consultants, aides and hired attack dogs assured us, Hillary Clinton would walk all the way to the presidency with easy victories over a slate of lackluster rivals in the primaries.
To hear them tell it you would have thought her campaign was a powerful locomotive speeding down the rails to the White House, unstoppable.
Thursday night it came off the tracks, derailed by the equivalent of the little train that wouldnt say no.
Barack Obama, a relative newcomer to national politics, a year ago largely unknown, not only defeated Hillary Clinton in their first face-to-face encounter, he walloped her, winning about 36 percent of the vote while Hillary was fighting to climb out of a third place finish, locked in a neck-and-neck battle with John Edwards, with each getting about 30 percent.
The results of tonights contest in Iowa confirm the speculation that Mrs. Clintons closet full of skeletons would emerge to haunt her as the contest developed. As early as last April, Dick Morris and Eileen McGann wrote that Hillary was rapidly losing her lead over Obama, while the number of people who viewed her unfavorably was steadily increasing.
Hillary isnt wearing well, Morris and McGann wrote. It seems as if the more people see her, the less they like her. Now, for the first time, her low likeability levels are costing her votes.
Her attempts to soften her image and shed the popular image of herself as a vindictive, cold, calculating opportunist and remake her image into that of a soft caring human only served to convince much of the public that they are watching a contrived performance meant to conceal her true nature which on the record shows she is anything but the kind, warmhearted human being she wants the voters to think she is.
Too many remember her shocking displays of ruthlessness, such as her cold hearted dismal of the White House Travel Office staff, or her use of thuggish private detectives to harass and slander the women who had been sexually mistreated by her husband.
Barack Obama cleverly tapped into the publics weariness with the White House being occupied by only two families since 1988, the Bush family and the Clintons. He recognized the publics desire for new faces and new policies and he made change his rallying cry and rode it to victory.
Hillary Clinton underestimated the publics resentment against her, and discounted their revulsion with the sleazy conduct she and her husband displayed in the White House, typified by their attempted swiping of White House furnishings and artifacts when they left the mansion, and her husbands last minute pardoning of the likes of fugitive felon Mark Rich.
Lincoln put it best You can fool some the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cant fool all of the people all of the time.
Iowa may not mark the end of Hillarys White House dreams, but it is inevitable that it is the beginning of the end.
NH is Hillary moonbat headquarters. If she loses here, she can't win anywhere.
Probably more important to try and help a conservative rise on the GOP side.
36% vs. 30% is nothing to get excited about. And as only 1 poll, not much to get excited about anyway.
Let’s not count the chickens before they’re hatched. This could easily still be Hitlery’s election.
In any case, I still say for all the hype about how popular Bill Clinton (and maybe the couple) is, we must all remember he never won a true majority, and much was syphoned away from Repub’s thanks to the strong independent called Perot. Never mind the anecdotal evidence of all the people who “hate and despise” Klintoon. Including many Dems.
Mentos?
>>>Perhaps Hillary lost because Obama received more votes? Even Edwards garnered more votes than The Supreme Witch. Click the image to read more reports from Iowa.
David Mixner told the sheep not to back Hillary:

>>>While the Clintons lead the party in a chorus of The Way We Were, the charismatic Barack Obama and the substantive John Edwards are giving us a glimpse at the future of the Democratic Party. My baby boomer generation has had our run and the next generation is boldly stepping up to lead and to create a new vision for America.
That is a good thing.<<<<
Brilliant.
True.
Another thing about them; when campaigning or giving bs press conferences they're always promising to "fight" for _______(fill in topic), while republicans in general say they'll "work" for something.
That bugs ne to no end and it's like they're in a perpetual war - against republicans (and America). It reminds me of an old film clip of a Lenin speech: "Down with the Bourgeois, up with the Proletariat!"
I think Edwards would turn his delegates over to Clinton for another VP ticket. That makes it Clinton/Edwards 28 and Obama/Richardson 19.
I find candidate Barak Hussein Osama MOST dangerous! If he wins, his birth name alone will embolden Islam terrorists around the world and their hideous traditions boom here in our country! They always said that the BIG prize was to have a Muslim in the White House....that folks is the crown jewel to them!
You are so right about the Democrat’s fondness for always campaigning (remember Kerry?) with the repeated phrase, “and I’m going to FIGHT (fill in the blank) for you against all the evil big shots out there taking advantage of you!” To a man . . it’s FIGHT. Republicans generally always say WORK.
...”Hillary’s war room today...”
Oh man, you made me spit up my breakfast, I was laughing so hard!! I can’t imagine the fear of those poor simps working for her right now! Heads must ROLL!!!
People have already said it in here and it’s true, the more the public sees of Hillary Rotten Clinton the more they are repulsed by her. Hillary is like a cockroach, she can’t live in the light of day. I’ve waited for this day for a long time, a day that she is forced into the sunlight. Hillary is also running out of venues that she is willing to appear on. It seems her only national news venue lately is Wolf Blitzer of CNN. 67% of Iowans voted against her last night despite her political machine and vast amounts of money.
The only problem here is that the Clinton administration revealed most of the Democratic Party supperters in the U.S. as the kind of people who would not look upon ANY of the things you've described here as a serious problem for a Democratic presidential candidate.
How ironic is that?
OMG
Algore looks like the put a tire valve in his behind and pumped him up to 120 psi.
I agree 100%.
While WJC had his fans, Hillary just appears to grate on everybody’s nerves. I haven’t found any women in my circle of acquaintance who would support Hillary.
I suspect Oprah Winfrey was tapped to support the Obama campaign so that she could basically be the "real" Mrs. Obama in the minds of voters.
I am thinking he wakes up with a dead 15 year old in his hotel bed! Oh schnapp maybe just a horses head next to him... Never underestimate Bill Clintleone~!
My 3 reasons:
1 - Because of what she stands for
2 - Because she has a marked lack of personality
3 - Because of who she is married to
Should the Clintonistas fail to win, they will not quit. Obama needs a red blanket; double security in full expectation that his life is in danger.
I agree fully... Should he be the nom and he happens to mysteriously die right before the convention and well low and behold who will be there to take the Nom. Hildusa!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess that makes her the wicked witch of the Midwest.
