You said, quoting something Jesus said — “Many will call on my name saying Lord, Lord, and I will say I never knew you.”

Ahhh..., but that’s not on the basis of politics, only on the basis of “salvation” and that being a “saving faith” — which means “saved *according to the Scripturres*”.

And that’s your catch, you see. It has nothing to do with politics, nothing to do with anything you accomplish or don’t accomplish in this life, has nothing to do with what political party you’re in or any of your actions or deeds.

It has *only* to do with — if — that person has chosen some set of actions and deeds to claim that they’re a Christian — or (on the other hand) — they actually say they are a Christian on the basis of the “good news” (the *actual plan of salvation* that God gives, in the Bible — the *only way* that we may be saved).

That’s what this is talking about.

So — I think it is pretty clear that a Baptist minister (having known a bunch of Baptist ministers in my day...) does *definitely* know and have a handle on what it takes to become a Christian and exactly what that criteria is — namely that there is only *one way* to become a Christian and no other (and “no other name under Heaven...”).

Sorry, you can’t bring politics into the matter of how a person “qualifies” as a Christian. It may not be a “popular idea” — but you know..., even a Democrat can be a Christian (no matter how much you hate his politics... LOL).

Regards,
Star Traveler

Huck fixed the roads in Arkansas (I live across the Mississippi from there and use them.) But total spending increased from 6 to 16 billion. That was not all roads. Taxes increased. Pardons of violent felons were rampant. Offers were made of college tuition for illegal immigrants.

I am educated and evangelical, too. I can read his record. The vast majority of Republicans FROM ARKANSAS are not supporting him. Why? He is not conservative.

BTW I think Warren is offtrack and supporting liberal causes but it is not fair to compare him to Osteen.

Apparently, Iowa voters care not about the future of the Republic, but about which guy smiles the most and presses their Jesus Love Button the best.

Morons. All of them.

Nope, just 34% of them. I voted for Fred tonight.

Well, Mike Huckabee is pro-life. Republicans should learn from this that the pro-life vote is significant, and you don’t win GOP primaries without it.

Is Chuck Norris even making a living acting anymore, or has he been relegated to infomercials like the Bowflex?

And they'll have more than just one or two days to do it too so it might just begin to stick.

Objectively speaking, the results for Fred this evening could have been better. But, I think that you're right. I also think that, had Iowa been on Next Thursday...Fred would have had a much better showing.

I'm not as confident as I was this morning, though.

It's unfortunate, He's the best candidate - hands down - on either side, IMHO.

As a Fred fan I must say I'd be feeling much worse if Mitt and Huck were reversed.

Ditto.

I checked CNN. 85% in. Fred’s back to 3rd place, about 300 votes up.

I have to admit that Mccain is sitting in great shape after tonight. I’m a Fred guy but he looks to be slipping tonight and with Mccain moving to third and possibly winning next week, he will be one of the favorites. Not to mention that Fred will likely endorse him.

I've wondered about that as well (Fred throwing his support behind McCain). If that happens, FR will be in a tailspin! ROFL!
