Family leaders call Romney 'disaster'
World Net Daily ^ | 1/3/2008 | WorldNetDaily

A coalition of leaders on family issues has released a letter warning about what they describe as the deception being assembled around former Massachusetts governor and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

"Most of us are not allied with any presidential candidate," the letter says. "But we are troubled by the unethical and Orwellian cover-up of Mitt Romney's role in catastrophic events in Massachusetts, once the cradle of American liberty.

"Actions he took as governor were beyond the pale," the letter continued.

The letter cites seven issues seen as problematic in the Romney campaign, including a "phony pro-life 'conversion.'"

"Mitt Romney established abortion as a 'healthcare benefit' in his own government-run healthcare plan at $50 per abortion – after his supposed 'pro-life conversion,'" the letter said. "He created a permanent, official government role for an unelected Planned Parenthood representative on the health care board."

So, all in the name of insuring just 7% of the MA pop (their rate is low compared to most states), he gives Planned Parenthood a permanent sentry post imbedded into the "health"care system...and ensures that taxpayers are spending even more $ to kill pre-borns with their subsidy.

Are you a latex paint fan, or oil paint fan? I like oil. Let’s discuss!

I have no use for anyone that aspires to the title of ‘family issues leader’.

In my experience, those are the exact types that have a ‘wide stance’ in public restrooms.....

The Huckabee son with the pistol in the airport: is this the one who cruelly hanged a dog?

You're getting off-topic. It's photography that's under discussion. (Didn't you read the headline?)

"For some bizarre reason the mere fact that Romney's never been divorced and goes to a temple regularly is supposed to negate the fact that he's extremely liberal," said Harvey.

"He used his Republican and Mormon identity to push through radical policies on gay marriage, abortion and pro-homosexual school programs that Ted Kennedy always dreamed about."

That's gotta hurt.

I don’t like Mitt and I’m not crazy about Huck, but I missed the election where we picked “family leaders.” Why does no one tell me these things??

Doubt it. he’s got a pretty thick skin, having been called far worse, by far better than this guy.

I'd vote for McCain or Huck, though holding my nose.

I was in Massachusetts when Romney ran against Ted Kennedy in 1994. He ran a putrid and disgraceful campaign, trying to out-liberal the uber-lib himself.

That any so-called conservative would consider voting for this guy is a sign that they may not be serious about their core principles.

Is Mitt still supporting Gays in the Boy Scouts?

He changes his positions every couple of years.

Yes, imagine policy and program wise, being the envy of Ted Kennedy. (Oh, but Romney's "always been pro-life" as he said early in '07...and I'm sure he's always been in his mind a conservative Mormon...and I'm sure he's always been...)

What does that mean? I would vote for Obama before I would vote for Hillary or Huckabee.. how is that? I can not take another Hick from Hope.

Actually, what's mind boggling is when you go back to those 1994 debate comments he made on the Scouts. Look at them. I see in one breath he's telling folks that it's up to the BSA to establish their own policies; but that was a breath away from him saying no one should be locked out of BSA due to their "sexual orientation."

"Multiple Choice Mitt" is indeed politically savvy when he can give you choice A & Choice B in 2 breaths!!!

LOL! No kidding! I have a bud of mine who excuses every single bad position and uncomfortable facts about Hucksterbee. I mentioned the fact that Huckabee’s miscreant son lynched a dog and Hucksterbee got him off the hook. (Micheal Vick went to jail for almost 2 damn for animal cruelty.) If this were a democrat, than this would be an issue for my friend, but not in this case. He just excused this away.

Well put. (When all that seems to count is an empty R that could pass for a D, why bother?)

Yes it is, at Boy scout camp. I think they also stoned it.
