I agree. Huckabee in Iowa, McCain in NH, Romney in Michigan, Thompson in S. Carolina, Guilianni in Florida. Let’s just hope for a mess that allows a conservative on both social and economic issues to rise.

These same people had a meltdown to the point they labeled middle America Jesusland.

These people said they were going to move out of America if Bush won.

Unfortunately they lied.

Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson are conservatives. We have candidates.

These same people were excited about Howie Dean not so long ago...

There’s nothing wrong with conservatism and there’s 11 months to go.

If you believe Bloomberg, he said on New Year’s eve that he’s not running. Okay, then maybe we have a brokered convention and Fred or Hunter comes out on top. Or we nominate Limbaugh. Just wishful thinking there. The gop is the last convention I believe, so if we do have a brokered convention the eyes of the universe will be on it. This should kill any bump the democrat nominee gets, and give the eventually nominee a boost.

“I support the right of the Boy Scouts of America to decide what it wants to do on that issue. I feel that all people should be allowed to participate in the Boy Scouts regardless of their sexual orientation,”

Pretty good answer. He said the Boy Scouts should decide the issue themselves...and at the same time people should not be denied participation. Bill Clinton couldn’t have said it better.

Good answer if you like the idea of young boys going on campouts accompanied only by a homosexual scoutmaster.

Since when are the BSA required to have gay scoutmasters?

Since when are the BSA required to have gay scoutmasters?
_______________________________

That’s the issue. Since the ‘90’s the Boy Scouts have been under pressure to allow homosexual scoutmasters. Many of the United Way organizations have pulled the Scouts right to recieve donations through the United Way because of the issue. Just last year the city of Philadelphia ended a “perpetual” lease agreement on a property the Scouts donated to the city to avoid taxes many decades ago. They did this when the Scouts refused to allow homosexual scoutmasters. It’s a big issue with left wing pressure heavy on the Scouts. Romney said in that debate that all people regardless of sexual orientation should be allowed to be Scout Masters. No way I’d ever consider a man like that for the Presidency.

Everything you say is true, I know this. But Romney correctly says the BSA have the right to decide the issue. He should stopped right there and said nothing more. The BSA have taken alot of heat for taking a stand, the right one I might add. Problem is, I’m sure there are many closet gay scout masters.

But Romney didn’t stop right there. He went on to say that he supported the right of all sexual orientations to “participate” or some such in the Scouts. He made his view on the issue known — as you point out gratuitously.

I think when you get older words like Zagut and Zogby appear as similar chemical chains in our brain’s memory bank. There was a comedian who was really good at that, using the wrong words on purpose. Can’t remember his name. I think Yogi gets accused of that too, but of course, he’s not trying to be funny. I bet you crack your family up all the time playing that game.

Uh, I meant “as you point out Romney’s insertion of his opinion on the matter beyond the right of an organization to make it’s own decision was gratuitous.” I hope it didn’t sound like I was trying to insult you.
