DES MOINES, Iowa – Several Republican officials close to Fred Thompson’s presidential campaign said they expect the candidate will drop out of the race within days if he finishes poorly in Thursday’s Iowa caucus.

Well, you should know

BTW, do all of your various personalities think you are witty? Or do some of them think you are a bore?

Uh, yeah, they did. It’s not just the MittWits either, a few Hunter supporters (one of them has been zotted) were saying that and worse too. I don’t have time to go back through thousands of threads and find them right now, and they’ve probably been deleted by the mods anyway.

Sure. Supporting embryonic cell research on “unwanted embryos” is really “pro-life”.

What the heck is up with that? Most of the time Thompson and Hunter seem to be first and second choice, or the other way around.

Oh, my! The Politico says Fred’s dropping out.

Gee whiz golly...I guess I’ll have to support Governor Ron Paul now, or that nice Senator Huckabee...he’s a preacher, you know. I’d better go make a donation to their campaigns...maybe the good-looking Romney fellow, too (he looks familiar...isn’t he a TV preacher, too?). In fact, maybe I’ll take a look at those Democrat-ic candidates (they have lot’s of free stuff)...maybe Oprah’s brother, that Obie-wana guy. He’s so nice. Clean, too.

Boy, I’m SO glad The Politico saved me from
making any more contributions to that silly old Fred Thompson. He needs to get back to prosecuting criminals on TV, anyway. Those thoughtful media reporters are really looking out for me, aren’t they?

I wouldn’t know what to think without them.

I just wonder WHAT the place will be like a week after NH when there aren’t any more “FRED IS SOOOO ____________” threads around.

Dream on. NH means nothing to the Thompson strategy, and he won't be dropping out before Super Tuesday. That would not make sense at all, considering that many of the Super states hold big potential for him and have strong organizations being put into place. Give it up.

Don’t forget the smut they posted about FRed’s daughter, an innocent four year old little girl.

I don’t know. Most of them are pretty respectful, but there were a couple of them getting really nasty. I think one of them, Papredoll (now zotted) may have actually been a disruptor trying to hurt Hunter.

If Fred is SO insignificant, why do you waste so much time bashing him?

These people who go on opposing threads to hammer the competition are a bunch of idiots.

wouldn’t surprise me...Fred sure had it in the beginning.

if he finishes worse than 3rd in Iowa folks will study his campaign in the future to see where he went wrong.

i think it was the lackluster performance in the first two debates and ignoring the media a bit earlier on

unfortunately Iowa has been the eventual GOP nominee every election since 1976 and folks thinking they could ignore that this year got hurt.

i also think he let Huckster get some of his support though all the Southern Protestant Conservatives I know support him.

hell everyone I know supports him....i gave him money 3 days ago again but I’m not optimistic

something went bad wrong for a guy to go from number one before he announced to 3rd or 4th a month after he formally entered

no matter how we like to paint it

False.
Saying it out loud doesn't make it true.
President Reagan LOST to GHWB in Iowa in 1980.
In 1988 GHWB finished 3rd, (as did WJC).

As a matter of fact the only NON-INCUMBENT to win Iowa and go on to win the nomination of the GOP was ... Your current President.

Facts are such a sticky wicket...

Darn, I came to this thread expecting to see cows being had all over the place, but all I find is Fred supporters making a lot of sense. Oh well, time for bed...

Shouldn’t we all be a tad more suspicious about the conflicting news items about the candidates? The spin from this one state from both parties and the MSM is nearly hysterical.
