Mexicans bundle up as temperatures drop

PUEBLA, Mexico - A cold front moved over most of Mexico Wednesday, leaving coastal cities chilly and windy, and dusting mountaintop towns with snow.

In the central state of Puebla, temperatures dropped to a low of 23 degrees, and more than 100 shelters were opened for residents who live in frigid shacks.

Winter snow is not uncommon at high altitudes in Mexico, including atop the Popocatepetl Volcano outside the capital. But this week's frost dusted buildings in towns that normally don't see such cold weather.

In Mexico City, residents accustomed to 80-degree afternoon temperatures bundled up in winter coats as the mercury dropped to 40 degrees.

I’m not a fan of cold at all and any time it goes below 70, it’s cold.

Love it down here in the South too! I was being serious...I was ticked it wasn’t working.

But it’ll be nice and cold again tomorrow night.

Ive been known to sit in a hot tub in a snow storm or sit round a fire, been known to jump in a snow bank and run back to one.

I like the contrast.

I’m sure them Mexicans will survive ;0)

I lived through the last ice age, the one of the 1970’s.

As Rush has pointed out, every 25-30 years the news media comes out with a story about the coming global ice or warming age. This history goes back to the middle 1800’s or more.

This is a bogus story. Al Gore has said 2007 was the warmest on record.

It’s obviously Karl Rove using his weather machine to convince Mexicans that global warming isn’t real...

"...every 25-30 years the news media comes out with a story about the coming global ice or warming age."

And the people grow more and more gullible with every resurrection of the coming calamity. This time the entire planet has bought this one, hook line and sinker.

If you think about it, global cooling would render hundred of millions of acres of cropland useless.

Global warming might flood a couple city blocks in New York.

So which is worse? I say the first is far worse.

Since we have not had much Solar Surface Activity at all for the past 12 months, and since the Southern Hemisphere just went through one of its coldest winters ever, chances are very good that the Northern Hemisphere is about to experience two of the worst winter months those of us alive have ever experienced. A monster winter storm is coming in off the Pacific right now. This will be just the first Train of Storms we will experience in January. Temperatures after these storms pass through should dip very low and we may see record lows by mid to late January. Expect very heavy snow. We just had a decent Solar Flare show up on the Sun, but other then that is has been little or no activity. Cosmic Ray levels are high and this will create heavy precipitation. The good news is that our drought problems should be gone.

Spending trillions of tax dollars, trashing all coal and gas fired power plants, building lots of windmills and making all of us drive econobox deathtraps will fix this problem quicker than you can say “Jack Sprat.”
