They are portrayed as bumbling idiots and their wives must do everything for them like they are ten year old boys.As represented in almost every commercial and sitcom on TV. Men are stupid and should be pitied at best.

Agree 100%. My Wife poo-pooed my assertion that almost all commercials on TV portray the Husband or Father as a helpless buffoon, completely unable to make even the simplest of decisions without his Wife coming to his rescue.
So I asked my Wife to keep a scorecard and find out who was right. She declined ;)
