Of course, there is much to disdain about The New Rules of Marriage, but what offended me most was its pervasive celebration of inequality amongst the sexes. Women want more out of relationships today so
men must give it to them. Why is that the case? In every equitable transaction, the side who asks for more must offer more in exchange. This leads us to ask, what do modern women offer men that is superior to what their predecessors proffered in the past?......

Sort of a modern Bill of Rights for the New World Order.

The fact that I haven’t been excoriated yet speaks well of Freeper women. They must be very secure.
But when he started to change his message, started saying that maybe both sides could be to blame, and stopped telling women exactly what they wanted to hear, he saw his audience disappear overnight. He found it a real eye opener.
Most men learn at an early age to not tell a woman what she really does not want to hear, because she will never forgive you for it
I guess after divorce you learn the real rules of Marriage.
What’s Your’s is Her’s, and What’s Her’s is Her’s.
In other words, during the divorce, when they’re separating the “community Property” You get the Garbage, she get’s the Can...
I do the best I can ;~)
And men, what?... can't wait to hear what they don't want to hear? This seems to me to be a fairly ~human~ characteristic. I don't know your author from Adam. But it seems to me if his main message is blame, he wasn't really helping his audience have a better marriage anyway.
This is my largest problem with women. They'd rather have emotional support for their wrong thinking than be told how wrong they are. How can you sustain a relationship where right and wrong is based on one's chromosomes? Once men realize that logic doesn't matter to women, most have a really difficult time coming up with a Plan B for relating to them.
A woman who is past 30 and has never been married will likely never marry. If she hasn't found somebody by that point, it indicates what she wants exceeds what she has to offer in return

I think you may have hit on the truest thing I’ve heard all day.
Put simply “Water seeks it’s own Level”
Well, my husband is certainly not terrified of me. Occasionally I wish he was. But he’s not.
A good woman understands her own nature, and allows for logic to overrule her emotions. She appreciates men and doesn't expect them to act like women. It doesn't hurt, either, if she owns a nice motor boat.
Real women like me make dinner when they are home - sure tonight was spaghetti, but it had italian sausage, onions, and tomatoes in it - but I also did roast chicken for lunch yesterday, and gumbo the night before, and grilled chicken and ribeyes on Sunday... real women cook - I’d go further, but I won’t.....
What time is dinner?
No dear... You cook. Just one of many acceptable ways to live your real life in a free country.
The problem is that both men and women have chosen to act like spoiled brats. Both in this society no longer remember their respective places in the family, or that there is such a thing as “family”.
We have become all fun and no responsibility. Which leads rather quickly into all sorts of problems.
That statement, I can agree with ;~)
Not really, slamming your fingers in the door is just painful.... reading another FR thread on marriage is also painful, but it's also educational, entertaining, and extremely funny while being painful!!!
Well, as you can see... I went that way... at least this time ;~)
I like mine better: It's good to want, it builds character!!
