The New Rules of Marriage
MensNewsDaily.com ^ | 1/2/08 | Bernard Chapin

Of course, there is much to disdain about The New Rules of Marriage, but what offended me most was its pervasive celebration of inequality amongst the sexes. Women want more out of relationships today so…men must give it to them. Why is that the case? In every equitable transaction, the side who asks for more must offer more in exchange. This leads us to ask, what do modern women offer men that is superior to what their predecessors proffered in the past?......

Requires being apologetic. And, it requires the ability to *NOT* need to be right all of the time. Or, just to be right and not have anyone know it but you.

Long run....it makes things soooo much easier.

Well, I, for one, can set the clock on the DVD player.

LOL!
There is only one thing you should ever give a women that requires an electrical outlet.

And if you do give her the wrong thing, she’s gonna be buyin’ the other one ASAP.

As represented in almost every commercial and sitcom on TV. Men are stupid and should be pitied at best.

Agree 100%. My Wife poo-pooed my assertion that almost all commercials on TV portray the Husband or Father as a helpless buffoon, completely unable to make even the simplest of decisions without his Wife coming to his rescue.

So I asked my Wife to keep a scorecard and find out who was right. She declined ;)

All these mid thirties to nearing 40 women, never married/no kids who have "been in tons of relationships to now know exactly what she wants", "not willing to settle", "man must be tall /attractive", "chemistry a must".... etc etc. I get a kick out of reading these profiles.

I have a phrase..."It's good to want things."

I just realized how that sounded. I'm talking about them working around the house.

a Husqvarna chain saw.

If we had trees to trim, that would make a wonderful, thoughtful Valentine's Day present for her.

Well then we can’t argue. I have, not once, on this thread said that the man is the boss. The whole time I simply stated my disdain for women who are the boss and the fact that it has become acceptable.

I will work to the bone to do anything mine asks me to do, and fight tooth and nail to do NOTHING she tells me to do. She is the same way.

I have never been to SF, but from what I hear, you don't look there... - As with most misunderstandings of our fair city that is wrong - no place better for a single guy looking for milk, there are a lot of nice looking, very smart women here.

"Would you like to borrow my six-year-old?" LOL! I know someone who would gladly trade your six-year old boy for her twin 3 1/2 year old girls - say, for a week? Big grin!

OR...family guy doesn’t have the same desire to waste money that he’d rather spend on....food - birthday gifts for the kids - school supplies....

Oh puhhlease, you don't know this guy. He hates his wife with a passion. And its because he has been reduced to a gravelly little boy. He would leave in an instant if he had the balls. He sits around and daydreams of playing poker with the guys but he starts to cry because he knows the wife won't LET him. We have tried to council him. Not to make him leave, but to try and get him to be the man for a change. He has accepted his whippedness and hangs his head. He hates his life.
