Lantos, like all San Francisco area politicians, is ultra-liberal. Nevertheless, he does come down on the right side on the War with Terror, and he has been steadfast in his support for Israel.

Nevertheless, he does come down on the right side on the War with Terror, and he has been steadfast in his support for Israel. Being a Holocaust survivor had to give him a clue what we are up against. God bless him in his fight against cancer.

He’s one of the few Rats that I have some respect for, even though I disagree with him on many issues. Prayers for his health.

That can be a nasty cancer. I wish him God’s blessing.

Prayers for Congressman Lantos and his family. He is one of the few liberal Democrat politicians worthy of our admiration and respect.
Unfortunately, in that district, he will likely be replaced with someone ten times more liberal and not one-tenth as patriotic or honorable as Congressman Lantos.

As bad as Lantos is, it’s hard to imagine his district electing somebody who is not even worse.

That type of cancer is usually a death sentence, second only to pancreatic. All the same I wish Mr. Lantos well.

Prayers for Mr. Lantos. I don’t agree with him often, but he is a fine man. God Bless him and his family.

"Nevertheless, he does come down on the right side on the War with Terror, and he has been steadfast in his support for Israel." Perhaps his being a Jew has something to do with that!
Even the most Left leaning Leftists, will often make decisions in their own best interests...
Of course, the REALLY STUPID Jews like Boxer and many others in Congress - are too stupid to know WHAT is in their best interests...
The harm Lantos has done is NOT offset by his few correct votes....

Agreed - Lantos, while liberal, is a fighter on a number of foreign policy fronts, including honoring our commitment to Taiwan, which a lot of 'conservatives' would just as soon ignore.
One of the few Democrats I would miss.

May he bear his illness with strength and resolve. I may not agree with his bay area politics, but will always remember him for going after the weasel Craig Livingston.

Compared to most 'rats, Lantos record on Terror and Foreign Policy might look acceptable... but he is no Joe Lieberman or Ed Koch.
