TAIPEI--Aggressive military action by China's air force in the East China Sea triggered alarm in Japan that resulted in emergency scrambling by Self-Defense Forces fighter jets on two days in September.

Chinese bombers made more than 40 sorties in airspace around the disputed Chunxiao gas field, known as Shirakaba in Japanese. SDF jets were scrambled 12 times, according to Taiwanese military sources.

Japanese government sources later confirmed the account.

China's action initially was seen as provocative. However, Japanese experts say the exercise could have been part of the Chinese military's readiness in the East China Sea in the event of an emergency situation in Taiwan.

“’They have 120 of these bombers. They’re ancient junk. Some have been fitted with SLAM capabilities though. Japan can take care of these guys, no problem.”

The only problem the Chinese have is how to move their land forces. Thats why they are investing in the landing craft. They would throw the 120 bombers over just to deplete the missile stores.

“We will be forced to nuke them so hard that only cockroaches are left... nothing kills roaches.”

True nothing kills roaches but we would never nuke them.

I am more worry about our internal saboteurs then the chicoms. The chicom threat is in front of us to see, but our internal jerks are not. I am not talking about leftwing intellects, MSM or the Democrat Party, but rather corporate America (not the capitalist system, but the jerks running the system). They are the ones who created the financial crisis that can screw us up (subprime, enron, worldcom, dot com bubble, S&L crisis, earmarks, hedge funds/derivative schemes, outsourcing our manufacturing base like steel, ammunition, shipbuidling, etc, etc, etc). It is tough enough for our country to finance our government debt and obligations with foreign cash, the subprime crisis just crippled our financial insitutions to the point that the Arabs and PRC have to step in to save them. How are we going to fight the WOT and confront potential Chinese military challenges when we need them to bail us out of our own corporate shenanigans????

For bombers its not the airframe, its the power plants and electronics packages.

Clinton sold the Chinese everything they need to produce what they want.

“I’m wondering if the human fodder factor has changed any since the Korean War era. Will they all march lockstep, or have times and perceptions changed inside China?”

Times have changed somewhat IMO. The massive wealth is giving people options. However that wealth is limited to certain regions and people. There are still plenty of extremely poor people. There are also plenty of leaders willing to sacrifice those people. Look to their prison system as an example.

“The Iraqi pilots certainly knew when to say, “Screw you very much, sir”; will the Chinese do the same, or are they still thoroughly brainwashed?”

The Iraqi’s are not the same as the Chinese. They have a very strong nationalism whereas the Iraqi’s are more defined by their individual religion.

Looks like a cross between a Tu-16 and a WWII-vintage A26 Invader, with a little deHavilland Comet thrown in for a bit of Western flavor.

Some China firms avoid U.S. technology transfer licenses

WASHINGTON: Six months ago, the U.S. government quietly eased some restrictions on the export of sensitive technologies to China. The new approach was intended to help U.S. companies increase sales of high-technology equipment to China despite tight curbs on sharing technology that might have military applications.

But now the administration is facing questions from weapons experts about whether some equipment - newly authorized for export to Chinese companies deemed trustworthy by Washington - could instead end up helping China modernize its military. Equally worrisome, the weapons experts say, is the possibility that China could share the technology with Iran or Syria.

Not surprised, they have bought into the idea that we can make friends with them by being their best customer. They will be happy to take our money and continue working to assimilate us.

I was trying to show that Bush is no better than Clinton. The heads of both parties are rotten.

The Democratic and Republican Parties have become merely opposite wings of the same bird, and it’s the American people who are getting the bird as our elected officials serve their corporate masters and the special interest groups that dominate both parties.

I’m not a big fan of the evil “corporate masters” mantra but agree with the rest of it. Corporations are not inherently evil. Generally they do whats best for themselves and their employees.

In today’s world most corporations have allowed greed for this quarters numbers to outweigh everything. That is the result of government policy and the training MBAs get in the overwhelmingly liberal universities.

Many of our largest corporations who have learned to manipulate government policy are run by people with foreign interests. Their CEO’s are European, Indian, Chinese or some other country.

One more reason to insist on TERM LIMTS, NOW! Don't give them the time it takes to cozy up.

If they attacked outright you are probably correct. The Chinese won’t do that. They will slowly undermine us; buying up property and politicians until the lines are quite blurry. Kinda like they are currently doing.

Then one day they will send the army in to help out during a crisis, probably at our request, and they just won’t leave.

These same “jerks” are on the payroll of the chicoms. I think every dim in America is a traitor... and there are some of these business leaders that I am convinced want America to fail.

Uh, speaking of A-26...if I'm a bomber builder in the 21st century...why do I need a glass nose? So the bombadier can see where he's going? So the navigator can get a good shot for his sextant?
