Beauty queen-law clerk charged with kidnap-torture

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A beauty pageant winner and law school student clerking for a federal judge faces charges that she kidnapped and tortured an ex-boyfriend.

Twenty-5-year-old Kumari Fulbright was indicted with three men December 18th by a Pima County Superior Court grand jury.

Fulbright faces charges of kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated robbery and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Fulbright was Miss Pima County in 2005 and Miss Desert Sun in 2006, and sought the title of Miss Arizona during those years.

The Arizona Daily Star says Fulbright clerked for U.S. District Judge Raner Collins as a University of Arizona law school student.

The newspaper reports the alleged assailants held a 24-year-old man captive for 10 hours on December 8th while robbing and torturing him.

Wow, that (second) boyfriend is just the stupidest toad I've heard of in a while. Too bad he got tortured, but geez, that was stupid beyond belief. And other posts indicate he's got a criminal past that includes other stupid things too... Hmmm, not looking good for him either, if he did steal the jewelry.

Kumari bit him with her teeth, frightened him with a butcher knife and threatened to kill the victim. The drama eventually ended when the man snatched away Kumari’s gun and it fired. He dashed out of the house and screamed for help. The police checked his injuries and believed his story of his abduction.

Something tells me their relationship ended very ugly and I suspect he did something to really piss her off for her to attack him like this.

He didn't just scorn her. He apparently robbed her of jewelry from a previous boyfriend.

There's more to this story. Ask yourself why a former boyfriend would just give a bunch of expensive jewelery to the guy that replaced him. Makes no sense unless it was an advance payment for drugs that weren't delivered or the jewelery was stolen in the first place and new boyfriend was fencing them.

I think you read it wrong. The former boyfriend gave the bling to the girl. The second boyfriend stole it from her.
