DFU SONG: California Girls (Chelsea snubs little 9-year-old girl in Iowa, Sydney Rieckhoff)
DFU News of the Day in Song ^ | 1-1-08 | Lyrics, Doug from Upland

MIDI - CALIFORNIA GIRLS

My name is Chelsea Clinton...I was born of royalty
And if reporters have a deadline they must meet, they will not get a thing from me

I've traveled with my mom and dad and watched them operate
One day a little kid, that Sydney Rieckhoff girl, I had a chance to set her straight

I will not talk to you, stupid little girl
(I will not talk to you, stupid little)
I will not talk to you, stupid little girl

For National Scholastic she had pen and pad in hand
She was all set to write and start the questioning but it did not go quite as planned

We Clintons never answer, everything must be controlled
My mom told me that she was really proud of me, I snubbed a kid who's 9 years old

I will not talk to you, stupid little girl
(I will not talk to you, stupid little)
I will not talk to you, stupid little girl

I do not talk to dumb little girls...I do not talk to dumb little girls
I do not talk to dumb little girls...I do not talk to dumb little girls
I do not talk to dumb little girls...I do not talk to dumb little girls
I do not talk to dumb little girls...I do not talk to dumb little girls

Yep, the kid gets snubbed by Chelsea but the Kool-Aide drinking, true believer mom votes for Clinton.

Chelsea Clinton Snubs 9-Year-Old
WKMG TV NEWS ^ | 12-31-2007

Posted on 12/31/2007 9:29:51 AM PST by Cagey

VINTON, Iowa — It’s one thing for Hillary Clinton’s campaign to turn down interview requests for the candidate’s daughter, Chelsea. But can’t a 9-year old reporter catch a break?

Sydney Rieckoff, a Cedar Rapids fourth grader and “kid reporter” for Scholastic News, has posed questions to seven Republican and Democratic presidential hopefuls as they’ve campaigned across Iowa this year. But when she approached the 27-year-old Chelsea after a campaign event Sunday, she got a different response.

“Do you think your dad would be a good ‘first man’ in the White House?” Rieckoff asked, but Chelsea brushed her question aside.

“I’m sorry, I don’t talk to the press and that applies to you, unfortunately. Even though I think you’re cute,” Chelsea told the pint-sized journalist.

Such is the paradox of Chelsea as she campaigns across Iowa in the closing days before the state’s caucuses Jan. 3.

Tall and attractive, Chelsea cuts an impressive figure on the campaign trail; she plunges enthusiastically into the crowd after her mother’s speeches, shaking hands and posing for pictures while asking, “Are you going to caucus for my mom?”

But onstage, Chelsea never speaks; she stands next to her mother and applauds but utters not a single sentence and doesn’t even say hello. And reporters covering the campaign have been put on notice that Chelsea is not available to speak to them. An aide follows the former first daughter as she works the crowd, shushing reporters who approach her and try to ask any questions.

Famously protective of their daughter’s privacy, Bill and Hillary Clinton have taken pains to shield Chelsea from the harsh glare and rough edges of presidential politics. She stayed largely absent from her mother’s campaign until December, when she made her first visit to Iowa.

For her part, Sydney looked a bit crestfallen after Chelsea turned her away. But luckily for Hillary Clinton, Sydney’s mother has made up her mind to caucus for the former first lady.

“I like her position on family values and health care. And I think it’s time we have a female president,” Robyn Rieckoff said.

“I like her position on family values ...”

What position? Killing the inconvenient family members before birth?

I thought you’d like to hear this song, I’m sitting here laughing and the kids are wondering why.

Weird, isn’t it? Mommy and Daddy still don’t allow little Chelsea to speak. You’d think the MSM would be a little more curious about Chelsea’s point of view, but they’re satisfied to follow Mrs. Bill Clinton’s rules. Maybe they all know something about her that we don’t.

I saw this girl reporter being interviewed on Fox News. She seemed quite cool, reserved, composed, undismayed, uncomplaining; all of which makes the photo of her crying buckets of tears seem quite incongruous.
Reportedly Chelsea’s response was the she does not respond to the press, which if true seems eminently sensible in the context of this contentious political exercise. However, answering a question for the little girl, who hardly can be considered “The Press,” would have seemed the wiser thing to do.
IMHO, way too much is being made of this minor incident, and I am not one to cut the Clintons very much,if any slack.

That is not her photo. I’ve used it several times before on other posts. Sorry for the confusion.

“’During Clinton’s first year in office,’ writes (the U.S. Marines) Lt. Col. Tom McKenney in the (1994) book, ‘The Clinton Chronicles,’ ‘an incident occurred which was buried by the news media.’

‘The occasion was a departure for a state function, a routine operation,’ Col. McKenney writes. ‘Vehicles were lined up outside the White House... Young Chelsea Clinton, like everyone else, was assigned a specific sedan.’ But when Chelsea was about to get into her limo, she turned around and declared: ‘I won’t ride in this car! There’s a military man in here, and I don’t ride with military men!’

The ‘military man’ happened to be a senior U.S. officer. Being a gentleman, however, he quietly got out of the car and found another ride.

In a separate incident, Chelsea asked her young Marine security escort to wear civilian clothes in the future. ‘My family doesn’t like military people,’ she explained.

Where, do you suppose, the ‘young Chelsea’ acquired such attitudes? At her home, of course.

And those are the two women (Hillary and Chelsea) whom President Clinton sent in March (1996) to boost the morale of our troops in Bosnia? That’s like sending ‘Hanoi Jane’ to cheer up U.S. troops in Vietnam’!”

"But onstage, Chelsea never speaks; she stands next to her mother and applauds but utters not a single sentence and doesn’t even say hello."

Maybe it's just me, but I find this kinda odd for her to just stand there like an accessory.

It's not like Chelsea is a little girl...she's a grown and educated woman and she's on the campaign trail.

Accessory is a great description. Hillary used Mother Teresa as such until a Catholic group kept the heat on her. Hillary finally removed from her website a photo with the saintly woman.

I hadn't heard this story before. OK, I take back what I said on another Chelsea thread: I posted that we shouldn't refer to Miss as a "skank" as her views and behavior were unknown. I herewith rescind that post. I was wholly wrong.

Hillary’s position on family values? Would that include being a rape enabler? How about go after the women behind the scenes who were the victims of her sexual assaulter husband?
