I thought Fred did quite well. I am tired of the horse race questions that the media are so obsessed with, so my attention tends to wander, but he led off with a great comment about how a quote Wallace read to prove he isn’t really interested in being president was mangled (purposely) and what he said was he didn’t want to be president for its own sake but because he cares about his family and his country.
He came across as steady and mature.
One thing I like about Fred is that I think he’s just as tired of it as you and I are. He’d much rather talk policy.
I think he’s relying on all the other guys to twirl themselves into a dither. Then, at some point, the public will “notice” ol’ steady Fred.
And if world events put a scare into voters....
On the ABC panel section, George Stuffinenvelopes started talking about the Bhutto assassination, but only the impact it would have on the candidate's chances. I guess the idea that this murder is important by itself just never occurred to him. They must call him a "wonk" because all the really good four-letter words have already been used.
