Forbes is convinced that Bloomberg is going to run. I agree.

I also don't know who Nunn and Cohen think they're fooling when they say that the purpose of Unity '08 isn't necessarily to endorse an independent Presidential ticket. That's been their stated goal from day one.

Bloomberg will be their nominee/endorsee. That's been their unstated, but heavily implied, goal from day one. Their rules state that the two members of the ticket cannot be from the same party. I suspect Bloomberg changed his party affiliation to "independent" primarily to allow himself to choose a Republican running mate. That man will likely be Chuck Hagel.

Who does Bloomberg hurt and how badly? That all depends on his campaign message. He's a political blank slate as far as voters nationwide are concerned.

I expect them to take as few clear positions as possible, particularly on the war. It'll probably be a Clintonesque DLC "triangulation" campaign. If that's the case, it will probably just come down to which party has nominated the stronger candidate.

Hillary is just the perfect PR stodge from Al Qeda point of view. They eliminate a political foe and destabilize the Pakistani Government. Now they get major US political figures like Hillary feeding the Al Qeda propaganda line to assign the blame to Musharif;s Govt. Therefore Al Qeda gets to kill two birds with one stone.

It's disgusting and so deeply stupid. Bhutto got killed by a suicide shooter/bomber which absolutely means Islamist psycho, probably al Qaeda. Where otherwise do we find suicide killers? We don't.

Even if the perp turns out to be a soldier, he still has to be an Islamist psycho and not a Musharaf supporter. Islamist psychos have been trying to assassinate Musharaf for a long time now. They do NOT work with him, they work to KILL him.

To accuse him directly or implicitly is hideously irresponsible and STOOOOPID on the face of it!

My apologies to anybody I missed who commented on Hillary's (and a couple other ahos') evil and irresponsible accusations or implications.

I have heard that too and I am not buying it. What sort of Republican would he appeal to? Certainly not a conservative one.

Al Qaeda isn’t dead, they are just moving. They are like a parasite that needs a weak host. Afghanistan provided that until 9/11. A grave miscalculation took them into Iraq and now they are moving on to Pakistan. Pakistan doesn’t need people like Hillary giving the impression that the US will not remain supportive of them. To do so only invites this enemy in.

Timmy has a trick question for Huck...is Pakistan primarily Sunni or Shia?

I was LOL. First it was soooo evident that he'd been coached because when he was asked about Pakistan, he responded with an almost memorized encyclopedia type answer starting with "It has a population of..." I was waiting for a list of the temperature ranges and major products.

What really made me laugh though was the Sunni/Shia question. He got it right, but I thought I caught a panicked look flash across his face before he answered. It made we wonder if he just took the 50% chance and picked one.

Wow. Let me try to explain what I know.

I was not aware there were TWO deadlines in Delaware. Thus I do not know which deadline was missed by the Thompson people. what I know is that it was the day signatures were to be turned in and there were a lot of rejected signatures, whatever that means but it’s what I was told. It was if this was an unusual thing for all the signatures to be rejected but I’m not certain on that. I just know it was part of the conversation.

Anyway, I was told Thompson turned in 285 signatures and he needed 500. I was told that most of his signatures were good and again it is inferred that good/bad signatures were an unusual thinig but again, I speculate here.

I kind of honed in on a slight suspicion that someone was deliberately forging signatures....one of the campaigns had most half of their signatures thrown out.

I also know that my last day in the GOP headquarters in Sussex county was 12/22 so I would assume the guy was talking about the 12/19 deadline but again, again and again, I speculate.

Now I must ask...why two deadlines? Damn I’m learning Delaware politics and for a small state it’s the most confusing and illogical system I can fathom.

[Wow, Hillary admits she didn’t have a national security clearance, but she had access to classified materials all the same.

Well, well...]

She admits to a violation of federal law? FELONIOUS BITCH.

Actually, altura, I don't have anyone I am behind. I used up all my emotion on George Bush's two elections, and decided I would make a sincere attempt to watch this one objectively.

I will support whoever is the Republican nominee (unless it is Paul, in which case I am heading for the hills). My primary is so late that it makes no sense for me to choose someone this early...the decision will be made before I ever get to vote.

I hate the primary system!

All due respect to the wonderful Iowa Granny, I find it ridiculous that every person in Iowa has gotten a chance to talk to every candidate 100 times, while in Texas (with many times the number of electoral votes) we ain’t seen nobody yet.

That is exactly what she said. She also said that, although she was intimately involved in things when Bill was president, he will not be.

I've heard the same several times too. Who do they think they are kidding? Bloomberg has been in the news enough times for Middle America to hear his condescending, nanny attitude. Only a liberal could find music in his voice.

“It is because of his Campaign Team(& inspite of his team), Fred is where he is today.”

I have not ‘enjoyed’, as the media has, the circus that has been made of the campaign, between the Republicans. The media has pitted each against the other and covered/reported on the R’s differently than they do the D’s. At the same time, it has been very enlighting(?)!!!

I’m not bothered that Fred Thompson has stayed out of the ‘in-fighting’ and when he IS interviewed I like what he says.

My opinion still stands re Barack Hussein Obama and hillary clinton. All media hype - they will run clinton/Obama.

Interesting that Benazir Bhutto willed the chairmanship of the PPP to her husband who immediately tossed that hot potato to his son, making him the sacrificial lamb.

Nice dad.

You suppose Harpy clinton would fight a Pakistani war from 20,000 ft??

I didn't know that brooms came with oxygen masks. I think she would have to be closer to the ground.

Hillary! stepped all over herself today. Stephanopoulos didn’t appear very impressed with her either. I wondered who chose the library stage design with mood lighting.

Something similar (without the potential horrendous consequences) happened in Cook County, Illinois (Chicago and very close suburbs). The Board President got very sick during an election campaign and the Democrats put his son on the ballot to replace him. So far, it's looked like Scott Evil trying to fill in for his dad, but the entertainment value is high.
