When I turn 65 I plan to really start drinking hard. I also plan to become a mean, nasty, embittered old man..... Everyone need goals in life.

I’m curious what his definition of binge drinking is.

Don’t drink and drive.

I’m a cop and I’ve been working checkpoints. It’s always sad to see people (often very nice decent people) making bad decisions.

Get a ride, a hotel, etc.

...the University of North Carolina Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies

If they're in need of test subjects, I spent 7 years in Wyoming and I drank an entire bottle of Goldschlager on New Years Eve 1999 thinking the world would end.

The most I’ve ever had in one night was when I was 18, December 28th 2003. I had minor alcohol poisoning; my stomach felt like a small bomb went off in it for 3 days after that night.

Binge drinking serves absolutely no purpose and is harmful to a person’s health.

Dr. Steinberg, as a fraternity alumnus, I can assure you that alcohol is rarely wasted on the young. It may often be unwisely used, to be sure, but it is very, very rarely wasted.

Most people over-indulge because they’ve learned that’s how to have a “good time” with friends.

I submit that people would be much happier with themselves if they learned that going along with the crowd is NOT the path to happiness!

Become your own person and stop at one or two, then switch to something sober!
Respect yourself first and you will be surprised at how that leads to others respecting you!

some simple but elegant studies done on lab rats

Picturing lab rats in tuxes with some fine wine.

That actually happen a lot when I used to drink.

Actually, the problem is that New Year’s Eve is amateur night.

Stay home and enjoy yourself in your own way.
