There are a few branches of us Lutherans that still hold true to scripture like the LCMS (missouri synod), the wisconsin synod and a few others. Interesting. This is the first time I've ever heard mention--other than my own--of WELS/ELS on FR; that is, our synod and sister synod. Your assessment is entirely correct.
