actually Lutheran hosp is no longer owned by the lutherans, but in reality the elca (largest body of lutherans) is quite liberal and in full communion with the episcopal church. There are a few branches of us Lutherans that still hold true to scripture like the LCMS (missouri synod), the wisconsin synod and a few others. But the majority are liberal and looney sorry to say (as a lutheran myself)

I hate to be both in violation of cliche usage and punnery, but you're preaching to the choir, my friend.

Interesting. This is the first time I've ever heard mention--other than my own--of WELS/ELS on FR; that is, our synod and sister synod. Your assessment is entirely correct.
I could go on--and perhaps we should.
