Not guilty! Look at Post#6 again. But you*re right about what happens when a person knows too much. And Pill& Pill left a surprising number of DBs behind in 8 years. People who knew too much. And in Arkansas.

The non response from Hunter is not typical. Even if the subject matter couldn’t be discussed, he answers. If he didn’t answer, I would be more inclined to assume he didn’t get the letter/email.

But, I am going to find out because I’m curious too. I will post back here with what ever answer I get.

Health Care #1 would go a LONG way toward alleviating the problem.

Duncan Hunter is the best candidate by far. I always say he is the best you could hope for all-around. The personal and political appeal and he’s about as close to perfect I have ever seen. Very admirable, steady, strong, personable man. Just what you’d want in a President. He knows who he is and doesn’t have to play a part. He is worth supporting and someone you can actually vote FOR. Time for people to show what they’re about. It is through no personal fault of Hunter that he would not make a good general election candidate, but through manipulation to tell us that he ‘cannot win’ because of lack of ‘name recognition’. Well, name recognition comes about in a general election and you had better have a solid candidate who does not stumble and comes across well and there is NO ONE BETTER than DUNCAN HUNTER!

Hunter winning the GOP primary would be all he would need. Shock the hell out of everyone and Hunter has all the traits of a strong candidate when given the opportunity and is exactly the President we are going to need. No one comes close.

And aren’t you a smug one?!! The other turkeys couldn’t stand on their own. They are going to need a VP people would actually want as President!!! Good luck, LOL.

the winner of the December 12th GOP debate was... Duncan Hunter.

Love Duncan.

Have donated to his campaign numerous number of times. Am on his preferred mailing list (I think it's preferred, anyway).

But I recognize that debate winners do not always translate into political winners.

Wish it weren't so, because American politics would be so much simpler and predictable.

There is an undefinable trait people seek in candidates.

I'm not saying Duncan doesn't have it. I'm just saying that if he does, the bulk of the conservative voter base doesn't see it. (sorry Duncan)

Lastly, I think it's important for the Republican base to REWARD, or at least stop bashing, candidates who at one time made liberal comments, but have NOW switched to a full conservative supporting causes.

If we continue to call these converts names, such as liar and scum and flip flopper, what incentive do they ... does anyone... ever have to convert to the conservative cause.

All on you, buddy. Fred cannot win a general election. He will not keep Ohio(just to name one state) and will not gain any ‘blue’ states. I see him losing youth and women vote and most likely independents as well(IF he carried them at all it would be extremely low). He doesn’t come across well. In fact, I think Fred is the least likely of the ‘top tier’ to have the ‘electability’ factor. Only with the ‘settle’ crowd in the GOP which is going mad in desperation and fear. It is credit to those who are standing strong with Hunter in realization that this extends beyond the GOP and we had better have a nominee who comes across strong and doesn’t stumble.

(statement issued last week)

Duncan Hunter’s Statement on the Assassination of Benazir Bhutto

Hunter Condemns Bhutto Assassination
Washington DC—Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA), ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, today condemned the assassination of former Prime Minister of Pakistan .
“This assassination has further destabilized a precarious political situation which could, at some point, affect the stewardship of Pakistans nuclear arsenal, said Hunter. Pakistans future is closely connected to Americas interests. Pakistans continued cooperation in the border region is a key to US operations in Afghanistan and the safeguarding of their nuclear weapons is an extreme concern for the US and its allies.
Former Prime Minister Bhuttos return to Pakistan offered the opportunity for a stable transition of power. This prospect has now ended tragically. There are no easy answers to the current situation. For now the US must remain vigilant and engaged, especially with military to military communications.”

That was funny the first hundred or so times it was posted about Hunter and Thompson. (I know, you have no idea who I am talking about, do a search)

Now it only shows ignorance of National Politics and a desire to use wit, accomplished to your credit by half.

Duncan Hunter’s Statement on the Assassination of Benazir Bhutto,

It's typical the media wouldn't play his statement while immediately playing the other candidates. It's another indication the socialist media does not want a Conservative in the White House.

That was funny the first hundred or so times it was posted about Hunter and Thompson.

Oh, but I beg to differ... Every single Hunter thread has some FredHead saying "Duncan who?" Now that Fred has cratered and it is justified, I am simply returning the favor.

The difference of course, being that Fred has the benefit of nat'l recognition and is still below the radar, While Hunter has yet to be recognized.

The fact that everyone actually does know who Fred is adds a level of satire to the statement, making it actually worthy of being defined as humor, rather than just a cruel twist of the knife as it is in the case of Hunter.

That you seem to be unable to see the wit in the statement leads me to assume you are lacking in it, and therefore my need to explain it to you.

Furthermore, that you rely upon such an old saw in your reply, the "accomplished to your credit by half" suggests a further lack of imagination, a crucial ingredient in the formation of wit, which justifies and lends credence to my point.

That point being that my half-a-wit is better than none, and your jealousy in that regard is understandable, though unseemly.

But I recognize that debate winners do not always translate into political winners.
***You didn’t read the article. The previous debate winners were Huckabee, using the same base analysis, and look what happened to him in the polls afterwards. This time around it was Hunter who won. So we might see the same corresponding bump in the polls.

Huckabee has surged because he won a couple of debates and he’s got evangelical support. If a quick rise can happen to the liberal pro-life evangelical Huckster, it can happen to the conservative pro-life evangelical Hunter.

.

.

.

According to Intrade, the winner of the December 12th GOP debate was... Duncan Hunter.
