I-69 Corridor is not for competitive U.S. trade
Navasota Examiner ^ | December 28, 2007 | Shawn Schneider

Posted on 12/28/2007 10:56:11 PM PST by Tolerance Sucks Rocks

Ladies and Gentleman, Michael Parks gave this same presentation to Judge Shifflet at commisoners court on November 14, 2007 to a room full of concerned residents including myself, most of whom, were and still are opposed to this corridor for more than one reason.

Throughout the meeting, Mr. Parks stated that Brazos County was in favor of it, and were welcoming it, while the majority of Grimes County residents were telling him Brazos County could have it. Mr. Parks and Brazos county welcomed it allright, right through the middle of our Dear and beautiful county, (no where near Brazos County) according to the map that was published in The Examiner November 21, 2007 on the front page, a week after the presentation.

During this meeting, Mr. Parks never once mentioned the fact that this would be a TOLL ROAD, nor did he refer to it as the Trans Texas Corridor, when questioned as to wether or not the I-69 corridor was linked to the Trans Texas Corridor, Mr. Parks stated we were confusing the two, and only when questioned did he state that it very possibly would be a TOLL ROAD, less than a week later at a similar presentation in Bryan, Mr. Parks himself linked I-69/Trans Texas Corridor as being one in the same.

Friends and Neighbors, TxDot, Michael Parks, and Mr. 39% can sugar coat this all they want, but the fact of the matter is, they're attempting to give hundreds of thousands of acres of Rural Texas back to Foreign Interests (Spain), we might as well hang a huge WELCOME banner at all the border crossings. If we let this corridor happen that is exactly what we can expect. More ILLEGAL ALIENS, ILLEGAL DRUGS, ILLEGAL WEAPONS, and TERRORISTS.

This I-69 Corridor will in no way help U.S. trade. The only thing it will help is the transport of goods from China, India, Mexico, Canada, and other countries (where U.S. jobs have been outsourced to) across and into the United States.

Please, if you care anything about the United States of America, The Great State of Texas, and this Wonderful County, call, write, and e-mail your State Representative, your County Judge and your County Commisioners, tell them you want a Town Hall Meeting in your county, with more than a days notice, in a place larger than commisioners court, and attend that meeting. If you dont mind paying tolls for roads youve allready paid for, or flooding, or living in the suburbs of Houston, than do absolutley nothing. Thank you Mary Lois and thank you Amy Stolz for continually bringing this subject up in The Examiner.

If you have a “ping list” for the TTC, NAFTA Superhighway, or the Mexican West Coast Ports Project, please add me to it.

I am 100% opposed to it.

Thanks.

After Googling it, it appears to me that third sector would apply to non-profits.

I added you. However, my ping list is strictly TTC. If you want all the NAU and NAFTA Superhighway tinfoil, you’ll need to talk to someone else.

The NAFTA superhighway will ship many of our dockworker jobs the Mexico, where the security will be lax and the workers will earn an extremely low wage. This will mean cheaper Chinese junk for Walmart, a greater security threat for our nation, and dockworkers on public assistance. No thanks. I’d rather pay an extra quarter for Chinese junk and leave it the way it is.

Thanks, Tolerance.

You probably know this, but, the TCC IS directly connected to NAU and NAFTA.

In order to accomplish their goals, the US will need to vacate it's sovereignty, usurp the rights of Americans, steal our tax dollars, and give away untold thousands of jobs to foreigners.

Not just dock workers. But, factory workers, retail workers, food & beverage workers, shop workers and owners, truck drivers, loaders, warehouse workers, etc.

This ain't a simple matter of a few thousand jobs. It's a completely new shift in worldwide commerce, and it directly hits US square in the eyes.

You all do know that the Mexicans are building, with US and Chinese assistance, and to be managed by the Chinese, one of the largest deep water ports just for this specific purpose, right?

The Chinese already own and/or control the ports on both ends of the Panama Canal and control Freeport in the Bahamas, and the only deep water port in Ecuador. Thier holdings/control over ports includes those in Manzanillo, Veracruz, Michoacan and two ports in Ensenada.

Mexican officials, as well as Hutchison Whampoa, are also jointly engaged in developing the sparsely populated bay of Punta Colonet ( I mentioned it above), which is 150 miles south of the U.S. border, into a “superport” rivaling, perhaps even exceeding, those of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Immedialty, though, Whampoa’s pacific port at Lazaro Cardenas, which is undergoing a massive expansion involving a new specialized container terminal, is set to become the largest of its kind in Mexico. Lazaro Cardenas is also Mexico’s deepest port and upon completion of its expansion will be capable of handling even the largest of container vessels.

I am extremely concerned by all of this. Why isn't everyone?

That’s ok, they’re just union jobs. :)

That does seem to be part and parcel of their divide and conquer strategy.

And the silence of the US union's political arms to all this makes it especially clear to rank-and-file that they aren't now looking out for the interests of their U.S. membership.

Isn't it interesting that instead they appear to be pouring a lot of their attention into "organizing" the other countries where the imports are coming from.

That appears to be labor "leadership's" survival plan. Simply relocate.

Just like good communists in the "socialist international". They are totally cool with redistributing wealth...and jobs...to the "poor" nations.
