The AP finally catches on to something that returning soldiers have been trying to tell us for some time now.
They’re about 6 months late on this, if not more. And more reluctant than a cow descending stairs.
This, from the Yahoos at AP is telling. There is a survival instinct within the MSM.
This story ought to be a year old.
First signs? What color is the sky on the planet where these people live?
I get weekly e-mail updates from a friend’s daughter in Kabul, Afghanistan. They never quite match up with what we hear from the MSM.
I know who I believe.
The 1st sign is that signpost up ahead. AP/DBM is entering the Twighlight Zone.
Much of the success is due to President Bush's decision to send nearly 30,000 American reinforcements to Iraq and to changes in tactics by top U.S. commander Gen. David Petraeus.
Wonder how much THAT hurt!??
Ping.
Harriet and Nasty will soon be saying that it was the dems who forced the President to “change course.”
25 words into the article until we have the first “but”
War is going well. Dems in deep depression.
More so than ever this is the time to pin these guys down - what would victory look like? What are they expecting? What standards are they using? For a very long time now the answer to that was "don't know what victory might look like but whatever we see before is is defeat." That's not going to do anymore and I think their brighter editors have figured that out.
What it has done in the end is to lower a level of credibility that perhaps the AP should never really have enjoyed in the first place. The last thing they want is for readers to look at the dateline and say "Oh, AP" dismissively, and we have been.
As well they should. Coalition fatalities are on track to reach an all-time low this month, somewhere in the low twenties. Only one earlier month (2-2004) came close.
This is a major bummer for Democrats. They are counting on massive U.S. casualties to sweep them into office.
I wonder who "Mideast analyst Jon Alterman" might be related to...
My exact thoughts.

First signs of intelligence appear in the AP.
