Rush responds to Huck peace offering

Rush Limbaugh — responding to Mike Huckabee's peace offering — said today that he doesn't need to talk with the former Arkansas governor.

"I saw his comments and accept them as honest, sincere and genuine," Limbaugh wrote in an e-mail.

Still, the conservative talk show host indicated his continued displeasure at the anonymous remarks Thursday from a Huckabee backer suggesting he takes his cues from the "D.C./Manhattan chattering class" that sparked this conflagration.

"What was somewhat stunning about all this is that NO ONE in the GOP field, including advisers and staff, could possibly misread my 19-plus-year career the way Gov. Huckabee's D.C. supporter did," Limbaugh said. "Whoever said those things was essentially repeating the Democrat mantra of all these years: that I am just an entertainer, not an independent thinker, part of the Wall Street/D.C. axis. If it was someone on Gov. Huckabee's staff or support team, it was just silly, uninformed and thus curious."

Limbaugh, the most listened-to talk show host in America and an influential voice in the conservative constellation, devoted part of his show Friday to defending himself against the charges.

"I'm part of the Cape Girardeau-Middle America axis," Limbaugh said on the program, alluding to his Missouri hometown.

He also struck back, calling the attacks "Clintonian" and accused Huckabee's campaign of "trying to dumb down conservatism in order to get it to conform with his record."

In his e-mail, Limbaugh kept it up.

"Gov. Huckabee's campaign is engaged in identity politics at this moment, so I understand his adviser's/supporter's intent to put the focus on me rather than the substance of my commentary," he tweaked.

You made me LOL this morning. Thanks!

You said: Huckabee is uniting the party . . . against himself.

I say: A truer statement I have not read on this thread.

Now THAT is going to leave a mark!

Hey, HisKingdomWillAbolishSinDeath - are you part of the Christian Reconstructionist movement that Cato Institute reported Huckabee is getting financial support from?

. “If Rush doesn’t like Huckabee he should just come out and say it,”

Do you ever listen to Rush? Even the most casual listener can discern that he does not care for this particular candidate or his positions.

More proof that DC and the MSM are scared to death of Mike Huckabee!

(do I really need a sarcasm tag?)

Puh-leeeeeeeze!!

This has nothing whatsoever to do with who Rush likes or dislikes.

And .. it was the Huckster’s MOB who ATTACKED Rush .. Rush did not attack anybody.

There’s people on Huckabee’s staff who are left-wing NUTS - and they’re going to kill the Huckster’s campaign if they doesn’t learn to shut up about people in the class of President Bush and/or Rush Limbaugh.

This is the big leagues and Huckster’s people better grow up.

Oh yeah .. just so you can’t say you didn’t know - HIS KINGDOM HAS ALREADY ABOLISHED SIN AND DEATH - it’s already a done deal.

Rush will be back on January 2, the day before the primary in Iowa. He has a big golden mike and three hours to influence conservatives before they vote that Tuesday.

When you take a butter knife to the King, you'd better kill him. Huck's advisors didn't heed this adage.....and Rush will have the last word on the 2nd, heheh.

Well you did not disappoint...

BTW, if it was not from Huck's team, why the suck up from Huck and the desire on Huck's part to call Rush?

I know, too complicated....

Amen. Huck thinks he is so comical...he thought Rush would let this slide. Obviously, he has not listened or seen Rush as long as we all have. I would suggest to huckadoodle next time he attemtps to put one over on the Great Rush Limabugh...that he think it over twice and then twice again cause no doubt Rush will have him for lunch and then spit him out. Go Rush...you will be around long after this pack of wannabes are all bigger hasbeens then they are right now. So long huckadoodle...it wasn’t fun knowing you.

He’s not committed to anyone yet - but he has commented that he likes Hunter. I can’t always listen, so if he’s mentioned anyone else I have not heard it.

I certainly hope so. These wet-behind-the-ears campaign workers need to be taken to the woodshed.

Chucklebee should stop while he is ahead, Rush is back on the air the day before which would be real bad for Chucklebee. We’ve already had one glib talking flim-flam man as President, we don’t need the conservative version to prove to us it is a really bad idea in the first place.

BJ — Alseep at the switch, didn’t we learn anything.

Christian Reconstructionists, for those unfamiliar with the term, are Religious Right radicals who believe that America, and the rest of the world besides, should be governed in accordance with strict Biblical law.

I'm wondering what the "strict Biblical law" is. Is it what Jews refer to as halacha? Is it some subset of halach, or a superset, or does it have nothing to do with halacha?
