That is why I said "most" and not "All". You and Phsstpok are the exceptions that prove the rule.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Anarchy can also be described by what happened in NOLA the week of Katrina. While people in Mississippi mainly reacted with order, respecting LEOs, In New Orleans, the Mayor went into hiding, the Police Commissioner went crazy, the police force became looters or thugs or runaways.....too many people thought is was someone else's "job" to save them...
By week's end, the Superdome and the Convention Center were emptied of all who had congregated there, lives lost were orders of magnitude lower than the mayor and others were predicting, but Katrina will forever be a synonym for "Bush's Fault."
Roast turkey with roast potatoes and Parsnips and sweet potato followed by sweet mincemeat tart and fresh double (heavy cream).
In case you did not see the photo last Friday was my work's do here is me in my party frock, I am going to post some more of the do and also some photos of houses decorated in my area tonight on the Singles thread if anyone is interested.
If I don't catch you all before Happy Christmas
Good point. How do they do this?
I have heard a number of bloggers talk about this. You got to admire Paul's supporters zeal and organizational skills. On a purely emotional level, their "leave me the heck alone" mentality is enormously seductive to most Conservatives.
Problem is the fundamental incompatibility of the Social Conservatives and the Libertarians to work together. Their views on virtually all social issues are fundamentally opposed and neither side really has much desire to cooperate with the other views.
How does the GOP get one side in the tent without losing the other?
What does this guy have to say and or do to at least get even a mild rebuke from you?
Even some of the people I hold in high regard have made stupid comments and I've called them on it, were it that the same could be said of the paul fans.
Do you think if I caught a plane to England from Houston right now I could make it on time? Merry Christmas!
I totally agree with your points about Russert’s approach to the Rs running in Iowa.
I wonder how much gnashing of teeth is going on in studio circles, with the ‘non-political’ shows off the air. No pithy remarks from Leno or top ten horrible things about R candidates from Letterman, etc etc
Not even CSI, L&O or Boston Legal to advance the cause - of crippling all viable Republican candidates.
Snugs, you look marvelous!
Pour me a tumbler of that Famous Grouse and I’ll drink to your health and a very Merry Christmas!!!!!
How so?
To use a double negative, I don’t disagree with that position. I found myself in agreement with many of RP’s small government ideas. If you can somehow ignore his misguided and dangerous views on the most important issue of our times (foreign policy), he has an occasional virtue.
“and Paul has a majority of what...
He has a majority of disgruntled Republicans, cross-over Democrats, independents, and newcomers joining his campaign. You fail to realize that the GOP base has shrunk significantly since 2004.”
..and will shrink much further if the party adopts his nut case ideas. Did you see Timmy with him? Paul is more duplicitous than Clinton. Being angry with life is no excuse to drink RPs cool-aid.
No question. However, many of his good ideas are simply unobtainable
The MTP panel was too much for me... in fact, RuPaul had me in sitches... he is must be twins, no one person can be so dense!
And his bad ones would at best, be disastrous.
“I really don’t give a rip about propping up corrupt tin-pot dictators in Africa with my tax dollars. You?”
But that is NOT the only use of foreign aid. I’m not saying we are completely or ever regularly wise in how we deploy it, but wake up and realize it is an important tool of foreign policy.
Hadn’t thought much about the total blackout of current liberal commentary from late night and MSM prime time. Now that I think about it, it’s kind of refreshing isn’t it!
I used to be able to tolerate Boston Legal, but just this year their visceral hatred of all things conservative is obvious. Can’t stomach it anymore, Denny Crane notwithstanding.
It was a great interview because it showed just how much of a blame-America-first RINO Paul is.
Besides saying Iran has no military (which shows his ignorance of foreign affairs), he advocated appeasement, blamed America for 9/11 and said America and al-Qaeda are somewhat morally equivalent.
He is no different than Noam Chomsky when it comes to Islamic terrorism.
Well how nice.
You like me, you really like me!
I’m simply doing what I an for my state and my nation.
Wm. Russell is the best. We are fortunate that he is one again willing to serve his country.
